make them read this- youll never have to watch that horrific movie again

http://www.express.co.uk/expressyoursel ... dy-Garland

Quote:
He took to groping her in his offi ce, telling her as he put a hand on her left breast that she “sang from the heart”.

“I often thought I was lucky I didn’t sing from another part of my anatomy,” she once quipped. Blackmailed into a hectic work schedule by the constant fear that their contracts would be torn up, Garland, along with other young stars, were given adrenaline shots, followed by downers like Seconal.

MAYER even sent people to spy on her to see if she was sticking to her daily diet of chicken soup, black coffee and 80 cigarettes to curb her appetite. Cheating would result in a reprimand and a trip to a doctor to be given diet pills, which gave her insomnia

Movie always freaked me out as a kid.

Thinking I have a lawsuit from the nightmares 40 years later?

Yeah. In the 1930s, 40s and 50s the studios owned women actresses and abused them. Sexually and otherwise. But she was just a kid so it's more disgusting.

They made her smoke 80 cigarettes a day to suppress her appetite, though? Christ, if she slept 8 hours, that's like a smoke every 10 minutes or so.

Yeah, as kids. I don't think any of us are watching it anymore. That's my point.

Yes, but there were others more freaky. I'm talking about late 70s, early 80s.

Salem's Lot, for one. Other horror flicks like Phantasm and Invasion of the Body Snatchers with Donald Sutherland and Leonard Nimoy.

And most Twilight Zone episodes.

I watched it about 5 years ago. It's actually a pretty good movie. I wouldn't mind seeing it in a theatre with big sound, etc.

I'm assuming most of you guys have synced up The Wizard of Oz with The Dark Side of the Moon, right?

It's kinda cool in some parts.

I did it as a teenager when I was really into Pink Floyd. I don't remember much about it.

Echoes and the last 23 minutes of 2001: A Space Odyssey works as well.
