Man advantage. Shots are gonna get off. Defenders might as well try to block shots before it gets to the goalie.

Mashinter will be lucky to get 20 seconds of ice time in the remainder of this game. Nothing will make Q hate you more than an offensive zone penalty.

I feel like we screen our own goalie and never get close enough to get it out of the zone or get possession.

The Blues have asserted their dominance for forty minutes (Elliott has stood on his head, their penalties have gone unscored on, their power play has threatened), so a goal from the Hawks in the third would really knock them on their ass.

Mashinter is completely worthless. Rockford has playoffs soon, send him back for them and bring Rasmussen back up.

He and Teuvo have been on the same line right? I kinda blame him for Teuvo not looking so good sometimes.

Teuvo is a pretty nifty player at times but overrated by some Hawks fans. Still, hard to argue your point. Mashinter is shit.

KINDA?

Stan brought in Weise and Fleischmann, who had strong chemistry in Montreal, to make Teuvo look good after five months of Teuvo not working anywhere they plugged him. So what does Q do? Scratches someone else's dumpy bottom-six power forward for his own dumpy bottom-six power forward, notwithstanding that one is still better than the other and offers some level of synergy with his linemates. I know Q always arrives at the right decision eventually, but the Bowmans should have Q-proofed the roster right then and there with that trade and sent Mashinter back to the A.

Here's the thing some of the CH haters-overly positive Hawks fans have to understand. This team has Mashinter on the 3rd line. Think about those third lines on all 3 Cup winning teams. They all had a shit ton of talent that could be 2nd lines on other teams. We won the Cup last year playing 4 dmen but if they win the Cup this season with only two lines then this team would go down as folklore.

It's such an easy fix, too. Put in Panik or Weise and you have a nice project-player-y third line and an established shutdown fourth line. Fleischmann-Teravainen-Weise/Panik isn't as good as Sharp-Vermette-Teravainen or Ladd-Bolland-Versteeg, obviously, but there's promise there. Like I said, Q will make this decision or have it made for him by Game 2, almost certainly.

Hopefully it doesn't take a Game 1 loss for Qstache to put Weiss or Panik in instead.

Yeah they were fun to watch. We don't have that luxury this year but there is always a chance with this team.

Well, 20 minutes to get one past fuckin' Brian Vezina over here.

Dale Weise's name really irritates me. Usually ie = E, ei = I in Germanic languages. It should either be pronounced Weiss or spelled Wiese.

Yea, I keep spelling Weise as Weiss. Oops.

On another note, this PP is fucking AIDS!

Yeah this game looks like a 1-0 in the last few minutes. Hopefully it's us with the 1.

Yes they've scored at will this game.

Well, Zero goals so far, I guess you can't say they missed Keith.

I know. He provides offensive chances sometimes. Still...

Keith is a premier offensive defenseman, n00b

I know, god dammit. That's why I qualified what I said. But Keith wouldn't have allowed -1 goals to this point. Which is his main job.

Kane gets cross checked, no call.

The Blues haven't dominated to the extent CH makes it out to be. This is a good first game so far. The Blues are so good defensively that it should be low scoring. This team really picks up its game defensively when Keith is out though. I'm not surprised its tied in the 3rd.
