Hawks shot tally is 28-12-19 on-missed-blocked. The Blues are playing some damn good six-goalie tonight and the Hawks don't really have an answer.

59 shots through 60 leads me to believe they're out of bullets for the night. Tarasenko probably ends this early.

Tarasenko at 61:27 is my prediction for a Blues winner, Toews at 68:50 for the Hawks.

You're such a negative nancy, but I don't mind. I understand. This is how I am with the Cubs.

This Hawks team is frustrating though. I've never really talked with you one on one but I feel like we both love the game and history of hockey so much that we are somewhat hopeless romantics when it comes to dynasties. We want to call this team a dynasty so much but when the regular season product on the ice underachieves so much, its hard not to be pissy about the team all the time.

If the the Hawks end up winning the Cup a part of me will be pissed off that besides one line, they bored the fuck out of me all season.

I hope anyone does. Maybe even Mashinter. I'd just hate to have as solid an effort as tonight be for naught, while it would be a huge blow to St. Louis.

Yeah, pretty much this. You want to enjoy hockey through the winter so it can get you through the blues (not those Blues) of the season, then the Blackhawks shit up the joint post-Christmas when you need your spirits lifted the most. Sucks.

Dammit. At least 4 good chances for the Hawks. That last one included. But the Blues have had 4 as well.

That is the thing that makes absolutely zero sense to me.

if you win a cup, the down periods mean nothing.

That never looked like a team that flipped the switch.

I love going to work on 5 hours of sleep after a overtime playoff loss.

I don't think that's totally true. Pretty bad in Feb/Mar. Sometimes it's the journey, the season means something, to me at least.

Unlucky for the goal but that whole sequence started when TVR got scorched by Steen at the blue line.

You're right for the most part. If they were a Cinderella team who hasnt won shit before but got hot during the playoffs that would be fine. But I've seen 3 Cups in 6 years. I've been spoiled as a fan. I'd like to be entertained with good hockey from October to April as well.

Pretty demoralizing loss for the Hawks. 35 shots on goal, 68 attempts, and they didn't amount to shit. Blues were the better team all night.

Everyone is quick to say "all's hits mean is you didn't have the puck!", but did anyone else notice a distinct lack of sustained possession from the Hawks?

Would have been more demoralizing for the Blues had they lost. You just said they were the better team. And they were at home.

Just saying it can't be demoralizing on the road if the other team outplayed them.

Correct, but once you get to 0-0 overtime, it's a gut-punch either way. Now the great flitch-swipping Hawks are heading into the second game of the playoffs without a single goal.

Also, statistically speaking, just like giving up the first goal in a game, giving up the first game generally means the series is over.

But it's not demoralizing. Wrong word. Tough loss. Leave it at that.

The Hawks aren't a possession team this year. They're run and gun. That's a tough way to win the Cup. The main reason I didn't panic last season is because they dominated possession numbers and Kane got hurt and he was the best player in the league before he went down.

Hawks are 1/60 in their last two games against Elliott and the Blues. Sad!
