Yeah. Terry is retiring. He was thinking about doing it this year but decided to hang on for one more year. Larry is the one that said he's "Soooooooo happy Terry is back for one more year."

This is why your pal drinky has been more on the muscle lately. He's has been waiting, probably passed up some minor weekend spots, being told by Bernstein that someday the big chair will be his. BUT NOOOOO

I don't know about that. Drinky no longer does nights and weekends cuz he's married with kids now and the wife probably told him "No more of that shit. I want your dumb ass home."

But I think Mitch has thrown drinky a bone to make up for that missed money of hosting by letting him do a bunch of endorsements. No other producer gets to do them as much as him. Some don't get to do them at all.

Drinky has been salty with Bernstein for a few years now. He clearly hates him.

Didn't people here say Drinky doesn't even produce the last hour of the show anymore so he can catch the train home? He's like Phil Rizzuto calling Yankee games but going home after the 6th inning to beat traffic.

Danny Mac on a 1 year deal still. Mac, Shep and _______ (finji)

I would be willing to join the staff as a "Life Skills Coach" as I think Finji and Shep need to exercise creative freedoms and yes, I think Mac is very OK with it.

Funny thing is that in my mind, that show has been off the air for about a year now. See what happens when you lie.

Drinky himself said it on the air. I don't know if it's the entire last hour. Maybe he leaves at 5:15 or 5:30. He lives in Libertyville so that's gotta be 1 hour and twenty minute train ride at least. So he didn't want to get home at 7:30 every day.

He asked Mitch and Mitch said yes. I would have said the show ends at 6 so you stay til 6. But Mitch is a pushover.

Yeah, his mult on Chicago Barn to Wire has reported the death of Dick Duchossois is imminent.

So that's why they call him Dale Jr. at the end?

Shep would have to be the third guy, IMO. He still sounds like a kid. I'd listen to that show though.

To me though, Mac sounds quite happy with where he's at. Easy going FM radio and not too much drama.

Ya know, I never understood why Terry calls him Dale Jr. I just chalked it up to Terry being weird and just saying something just to say it. But you're probably right. He's Dale Jr. cuz he races out of the studio before the show is over to catch the train.

Dan wouldn't want to travel. Then we wouldn't have any travel hockey stories.

Maybe Bernsie would go solo so he can become the sports pope of Chicago.

I used to not mind Finfer. He was on a lot with Waddle a few weeks ago when Silvy was on vacation and I was not a fan. I wouldn't say terrible but was not good. I shut it off a few times. There was nothing specific but he annoyed me.

This isn't really news. Terry has been dropping not so subtle hints that this is his last year for quite a while now.

This

I cannot think of a combination I would like. There are quite a few that would cause me to never listen to the Score again in middays...Rozner, Sir, Di Caro, Mc Doink,

The best case scenario is JHood, who has worked with Dan in the past and with whom he has a good relationship. Next best would be Goff. I might also be able to get into a Rongey and Bernstein paring.

In a dream scenario, Bernstein gets bounced to middays and Dan Mc Neil reclaims the afternoon show.

I think Mitch will do one of three things.

1. Bernstein solo

2. Berstein & Rozner

3. Bernstein & Goff (If this happens Rozner joins Spiegel)

It's only a matter of time for Rozner. Mitch likes him. More importantly, Bernstein likes him. If you think about it, with all the subbing he does for all of the shows and his weekend/night shifts, Rozner probably has more Score air time in a year than Larry.

Bernstein would bring back the old Goff. Not this weird thing we've gotten since his return.

In any scenario, it appears that Abbatacola gets the shaft again. I think Rozner will get a play too because he was probably told that if he didn't put up a stink about Goff being chosen over him, he'd be first in line when Boers retires.

No way Bernstein works with Goff. Maybe it would be Bernsie and Grimace.

Then dark skin / light skin on middays.

Bernstein would prefer going solo or Rozner over Goff. I agree with that.

Put up a stink? He's a freelancer.

When Dan solo shows in the past, he'd still bounce stuff off producers and update hosts, so it will be with Jason and Julie, as hand-picked as any two people could be for him.

Probably what they'll do, though I don't really see a point to Spiegs hanging around the Score since Mac left and especially since Mannelly failed. If his contract is up, I wouldn't be shocked to see Mac's hand-picked guy go.

They really erred in not picking up THE KAP MAN for midday Cubs talk.
