I've listened to it a few times today. It's almost as good as the new Kweli CD and one of my favorite albums of the year. His sound and flow are very similar to Kanye's on this cd, but with a lot more heart and humility which is why I have a tough time enjoying Kanye. I think he grew up in my neighborhood too only a few blocks away right? There are 8 or 9 4-5 star tracks on this cd which is a hell of an accomplishment. Favorites so far are (in no particular order)-

Hip Hop Saved My Life
Intruder Alert
The Die
Go Baby
etc...

A very late addition to my albums of the year list. Simply outstanding.

Unfortunately as a child of divorced parents, I have about 10 million Easters to go to, including tomorrow night in Niles. So while I could still technically make the show as it doesn't start until 10:30 it would be a massive amount of driving I'm not sure I can handle

Anyone heard Kidz In The Hall?

Picked up their new album, on Duck Down Records. Kind of an Outkast feel on the rapping style with the drawl. Very entertaining. Definitely different type of stuff from Duck Down

Also, one of the guys is from Chicago which I didn't know at first.

Anyone hear this new album by Elzhi, "the Preface"?

I can't believe this guy could put out an album anywhere near to good after the last few Slum Village albums, let alone classic, but there it is. Outstanding album.

Elzhi has always been pretty good. He's had a few guest appearances over the past few years that have stole the show.

Murs and 9th Wonder's new album Murs For President is coming out next tues I believe which imo should be solid

Going to the show at the Double Door on 1/30, can't wait. Everyone is going to be there- Phonte, Nicolay, Darien Brockington, all the female singers, plus a live band. Should be great.

^Connected is a fkn classic imo. That, Heiruspecs( A Tiger Dancing), MF Doom (Mm..Food) and Murs 3:16 were my fav albums of 2004
