we need to stop the money diarrhea in washington. period. think bernie is a goon or whatever, who cares. it doesnt even matter if his plans will work.. at very least he will put a buttplug in these elitist assholes for a few years

Quote:
Bernie Sanders supporters showered Hillary Clinton's motorcade with 1,000 $1 bills as she arrived at George Clooney's house for a ritzy fundraising event Saturday night in Los Angeles.

Clinton was headed to an event with Hollywood big wigs, including Jeffrey and Marilyn Katzenberg, Steven Spielberg and Kate Capshaw and Haim and Cheryl Saban. Tickets started at $34,000.

Clooney's next door neighbor, whose family founded the 99 Cents Only store chain, threw a competing fundraiser party Saturday night with tickets for $27. Attendees and protesters lined the street as Clinton arrived at Clooney's house.

I don't get why Sanders and/or his team have criticized the clooney fundraiser. Yes it's an obscene amount of money but so what? These are private citizens organizing around a candidate they support, much like private citizens, including wealthy ones, throw their support behind Sanders. Don't know if I'm missing something here but to me the fundraiser is largely innocuous. It's not like this event will create conflict of interest issues for Clinton. We all know she's good for a few of those anyway on her own time.

I personally am tired of the 8-year "heir apparent" act Hillary's been doing. Of the two, Bernie has the more interesting message.

Now for the republicans :-) I see Trump and Cruz both as failures in the making. What's left?!?

I love Bernie, but there is zero chance that he will be able to have any of his policies become law. He has not done it in Vermont and wont do it in DC, so why do people believe him? Hes just another lying grandstanding politician.

Kasich seems like the only logical choice so I guess that's why he is losing.

His recent comment about young coeds avoiding parties with alcohol just sounded like a concerned dad. So of course the liberal press tried to make something out of it.

Kasich WILL MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!

You get the next 5 years of easy money, economic boom, etc....all at the expense of the future, which is 100% of the Obama plan.

Except Bernie, he will destroy the economy . Not that taking a step backwards is the worst thing for us, but he will take 4 steps backwards. I admire what he has done and I think with a little more of a plan to appeal to those who dont like him, he could do some real damage.

Tdr destroyed the economy so it had a chance to rebuild itself with the best middle class the world ever saw.

34K is reasonable in the current climate. Sanders is pissed cause most of his supporters are poor.

You could confiscate and redistribute all their wealth and it would be as impactive as a fart in the wind.

Yeah. It's best to keep all the wealth with about 60 people.

You have more wealth than most of those 3.5 billion too. How much of your net worth can they have?

At least do this statistic with only Americans. I don't think we need Bernie Sanders because other countries are filled with people who are virtually penniless.

Well, I can pretty much guarantee, if all their wealth were taken, it would have zero impact on our lives.

It would suck for them, however. If that's your objective, then you'll feel much better when you wake up in the morning enjoying your movement up the rungs of the wealth ladder.

How can you "guarantee" this? It's an assumption based on zero evidence.

This group has almost limitless influence on the political process. They basically write the laws.

Look at the numbers and that will set you free.

Do you also blame the politicians who allow their votes to be influenced by these evil rich folks? If you take all the money from the top 62, doesn't that just empower the next top 62 to influence our innocent politicians? Where does it all end?

1. Take the money out of politics.

2. Change the laws to disallow dynastic wealth.

Who cares if you raise their taxes. Its HOW they are taxed that is the issue.

President of ABC, Inc. Probaby has a car, 2 houses, expense account, country club membership, etc etc all paid for for the corp he works (to the extent the IRS allows such deductions and even then probably paid for) and many times he can claim "I AM NOT TAKING A SALARY" at the same time he is compoundung the shares or options of the stock he will be taking and then only pay a Long Term gain on.

if you want to continue the corp tax structure as it is today, this is how it will always be.

Great idea is make political contributions NON TAX DEDUCTABLE above $500 per person and Corps CANT DONATE. Good luck making that happen, but would be a great place to start.

I gave the perfect campaign funding system that would actually give the power back to the people of their district and their states while stripping the powers of the DNC and RNC. It was in a thread about 8 or so years ago. I took a great deal of heat for it by a poster, who is no longer active, but makes his living off influencing public policy through the use of outside funds.

Alas, I'm sure it has been thrust into the ether along with many of my other profound posts.

Unless somebody would like to illustrate how the Dems or the GOP are also going to take 60+ seats in the Senate, please spare me the lectures on how Bernie or Herr Trump or Rafael Cruz are gonna change anything. We're screwed for the foreseeable future no matter who wins.

Not too bad? As opposed to what? The divine rights of kings? It's almost the same as having royalty.
