Walk around the Cell at an average night with about 10,000 in attendance (bumper crop!) and you'll find more minorities in the stands than you will at a sold iut Cubs game. Part of the Cubs identity is Whites Only, that kind of segregation mindset is baked into that silly bullshit the Cubs used to win over the collar counties and establish "dominance" over the Sox.

While Cub fandom has indeed become a sort of assertive whiteness, I don't think it's been a matter of minorities explicitly not being welcome to join the fun (and oh, what fun it IS). It just wouldn't occur to them to hang out with loud dudes in cargo shorts and Michigan State hoodies.
