I had written last week that I don't remember a big law firm on her incredibly complicated resume of jobs. I took a second look to see if I was incorrect. She was never at a place with more than 10 attorneys. I am being generous in that statement because the "big" one she was with is one I have first hand knowledge was only a few people during her days of employment. It also happens to be run by an SICP grad and the daughter of a formerly well known politician. I could get a "my sources" on this one if I cared enough. However, I am largely in the BRick camp on this one regarding her.

Suffice it to say, everything I have seen from her regarding her time as an attorney is what those in the contract world would politely call puffering. It seems that is a theme in just about everything she presents to the world and really makes me question some of the things she presents as facts in her life

She sets up sportswriters as neanderthals completely uninterested (and unable?) to partake in "solving the world's ills"...then drops the bomb that many sportswriters are men. This isn't a coherent thought, it's flat out degradation of men as a group. Her contempt for the male sex of the human species is palpable.



So....athlete X is guilty of rape or assault because you claim you were raped, or this female reporter/activist was assaulted, Julie? People saying "wait for the facts" and "innocent until proven guilty" should kowtow to the proclamations of the few that are abject victims?

And yes, fearing a hefty lawsuit stemming from an article about a victim's sexual assault claims based on shaky facts is a perfectly reasonable concern. Rolling Stone is being taken to the fucking cleaners over "A Rape on Campus", as well they should.

If it were anyone else but Julie DiCaro I'd say I was stunned that someone who used to be a lawyer thought the concept of "innocent until proven guilty" was a nuisance.

It's crazy that she has the audacity to lecture reporters on how to report on stories involving rape allegations. Literally the only reason she is known by anyone is because she was aggressively wrong about pretty much every detail about the Kane story and failed to ever acknowledge that. It would be like Stephen Glass writing an article lecturing reporters on how to make sure your article isn't a bunch of made up bullshit.
