I really like Joe Cowley. But that might just be because I've only heard him in small doses.

Cowley got better when the S-T took him off the Sox beat. Believe me, he was insufferable beyond words. Quite possibly CSFMB Enemy #1 among some at the time, just before the board really turned on Dan.

I got it -- Murphy from his home studio (you have to build this for him) w/ Bersterin at the Score's studio. You get Huebner to be the emcee -- Murph will sign on if he knows Huebner is running the show, and you know Huebner will get intimidated with Berstein staring daggers at him across the room. Can't be that hard to get them out of whatever weekend contract they have with ESPN.

Goff brags about killing it in the ratings. But I guess that's just for the Carm and Jurko portion. Why doesn't ESPN see these numbers and let Kap go 9-1.

Carmen is just awful. Worse than Goff like I've said.

him and speigal both seem to honestly believe their rating increase over the last year is due to there show getting better not because the competitor's show is simply garbage

Will B&B take credit for the increase in afternoon drive ratings due to the Cubs?

Larz will gladly spin the backstory on that one.

The days of big money in radio are over. Period. Mac didn't get it, so he's 3rd banana in Stonerville. We'll see if Bernsie figures it out. I'm sure he thinks that if he goes solo he's "entitled" to at least some of Terry's money. Even if they put Rozner in there, they won't pay him what Terry made, and Dan will think that money is his.

Once these guys get the "They are screwing me over on money" thought in their head, it just eats away at them. Their ego is too big to get their heads around the thought. Then it affects their every day attitude, and their performance on the air. Death spiral.

Mac's at the bottom, Bernsie is circling around the edges now.

but Bernstein was never in the big money era. 300-500K is the big money for him. He isn't burdened remembering North making 1.5 million

Roe Conn was at one point making seven figures to talk about watching Dancing with the Stars the night before. That's at least as infuriating as North, if not more so.

His next contract will be less. Hard for a tribesman to swallow.

I doubt he's as smart  or capable as say Marshawn Lynch (if reports are in fact true) and has been living off of endorsements and banking his salary. Plus with a wife who has a cultured "image" to protect & two kids, I'm sure he's bleeding money pretty well.

"The battle between the two sports talk stations, WSCR-AM/670 The Score and WMVP-AM/ESPN 1000 Chicago, is also basically unchanged from the month before. In the target demographic for the stations, Men 25-54, WSCR-AM wins big in mornings and middays". This is from the March ratings report. IIRC, LARZ issued a correction following the February ratings report stating that Kap does not beat S&G.

With CBS very publicly trying to sell their radio division, who's to say WSCR even stays a 24 sports channel in the long term? New owners could be content with having the Cubs and ceding the rest to ESPN. If I'm a current host at WSCR, that would be at the forefront of my thoughts.

My guess is that, if Boers does leave over the next year, the future show would be the 'Dan Bernstein Show' (creative).

He wouldn't have a partner, but would have Julie chiming in all show agreeing with him on any of his shows (which will be common) that turn sports topics into SJW rants. Matt would also be the producer and would agree with him on any of these SJW topics, but also use his comedic talents to lighten the show from time to time.

So, lots of shows where people are labeled bigots, racists, women haters, etc. if you don't share their opinions wrapped around strong Chicago sports talk where Dan leverages his impeccable sources (himself).

That's what I've been saying for months, but Jason would be there to bounce stuff off as well. You know he misses Daddy. They won't lose Terry and not slide Jason back in.

I wouldn't be surprised if Bernstein wanted a partner, but as the major voice of the station, he could run with a solo show. From what limited listening to the mid-day show, Goff is very lucky to have a show. Not sure what anyone sees in him or why he'd be moved to a drive show.

He was a de facto co-host by the end of his time with B&B. It'd be a similar role, but without the dirty work of producing. That's for lessers.

CBS CORP. Chairman/CEO LES MOONVES made an appearance on BCA Sports XEPRS-A (MIGHTY 1090)/SAN DIEGO's DAN SILEO show YESTERDAY (4/13), and in addition to noting that sports programming, "is really essential” to CBS, he got industry tongues wagging about the future of CBS RADIO. SILEO noted “CBS was built on radio,” and asked MOONVES, "Why the transition out of radio for CBS?" MOONVES said, “As the world has progressed, and as we've moved into much more digital -- and much more streaming, and it is a world for us that is keyed on video. Radio is still a wonderful, wonderful business. Our intent is to spin off radio so it is its own self-standing company, which will fit better than being part of a big conglomerate like ours, which is keyed more on television." "By no means do we think radio's not a great business," MOONVES continued. "It's a slower growth business than the video business is, but we have 117 radio stations and we think that will be a great standalone company. So by no means are we deserting the radio business" You can listen to the full interview here. - See more at: http://www.allaccess.com/net-news/archi ... 1YJaI.dpuf

Roe is making a third currently of what he did in his heyday. He goes to work quite happily, as does Mac on a daily basis. So much for the "They are screwing me over on money" scenario you posited.

Bernsie is a miserable guy even before his money will be cut.

What's your next theory?
