And yet Rizzo has more homers and doesn't play in one of the most homer friendly parks.

Baseball is such a crazy game of inches. Rizzo robbed of a 2 run HR. Martinez dropping in a hit that is barely fair to score a run.

Busch Stadium is a beautiful place. Enjoyed being there today.

Will take 2 out of 3 from the Cards any time.

Especially on the road. I was thinking about that Rizzo (almost) 2 run HR. If it lands over the fence and gives the Cubs a 2-0 lead in the 1st inning, things might have gone real differently. I really don't like LaStella. Why he was at 3B, rather than giving Baez a start there and playing Russell is a question I pondered. Russell just had a day off a couple days before, so why another? It may have been ruled a hit, but the double before the Holiday HR was an error by LaStella in my eyes. Plus, the batter should have been rung up on strikes on the pitch just before it. Game of inches indeed.

Oh well, Arrieta goes tomorrow VS the Reds and a new winning streak can begin hopefully again.

Good series. Taking 2 out of 3 without Arrieta is nice.

Tell me about it. The Cubs went on the road against the team that won the division last year and took 2 out of 3 with their #3, #4, and #5 starters going.

All this hand wringing by Elmhurst Steve and Co. about what might have been is frankly pathetic.

There are 162 games, the Cubs are going to lose a bunch of those games, accept it now. Every loss isn't going to be a robbery situation or a game of inches type of deal.

The Cubs ran out their #5 starter and were down 2-0 after the first inning, and 4-0 after the second. Those are games you lose 100% of the time and rightfully so.

John Danks calls that a good start.

Agreed. No complaints this series except swinging at 3-0 pitches with no one on base in 3 run deficits.

Danks no longer tips his pitches and is ready for a bounce back year!

Plus 1 for the use of a frustrated Wanny, but minus 2 for having him in the Pitt gear as opposed to his Bear attire as that is what we all associate that paraphrasing with.

Wrigley Field is quite friendly to home run hitters:

Very convenient to use a single year. If this board were full of idiots, you might have gotten away with that.

I'm pretty sure it is, and it's possible he still might.
