I wish John Danks had a son Kenny could kick out of the clubhouse

Well, they didn't score against him in the first AND 28 pitches means he will be out of the game more quickly.

I predict we will see Eric Johnson's first MLB action this year today

I get that the Sox have to give him a shot because he's so expensive and really 4 or 5 Danks starts shouldn't be enough to tank the season. But if he gets another start after this, and if he looks like garbage again, its gonna be time to wave goodbye to him and use the LaRoche savings to do it.

The nice part about having a defense as good as this one is even John Danks can bumble his way through horrible innings without giving up runs.

I think he should get a start in the pen even if he is not longer starting. His numbers the first time around the order have been good the last couple of years. Maybe he can be useful in long relief.

I think he is going to be replaced by Gonzalez no matter what he does, as soon as Gonzalez shows himself ready for the promotion

Maybe just to eat innings, but do you really want to bring Danks into games where the opponents offense is already seeing the ball well? YIKES.

The Sox look to have stolen Lawrie from Oakland... if this keeps up may be want to extend him. He's playing at an All Star level.

He's still in his arbitration years even next year. I don't think he is the type of player you need to extend early

3 scoreless innings from Danks. That is as good as it can get. Now make it a bullpen day.

the curse of the kid

last year's team couldn't overcome the bad hitting because they were pitching two automatic losses at the bottom of the rotation and were getting no help from the defense

The Sox acquired him with 2 arb years remaining, same amount Eaton had when they gave him $25m. Lawrie looks every bit as good as Eaton so far.

I knew Weaver lost some velocity, but good god, he's become a right handed Jamie Moyer now.

Abreu looks awful right now. Can't have him struggle with blackholes at DH and C.

I hope Robin is smart enough to know he got a gift in this start from Danks and not have him go out to face the heart of the order a third time. Get Johnson up and see what he can give you.

Could have had Fowler. The team needs at least two more bats if they are serious. The pitching staff is top five. Defense looks above average as well.

What do you mean a gift? He's throwing a 10-hit, 10-walk shutout. Going for some sort of record.

Hey, it's Robin. Why would I hold out hope he would be smart?

zero runs...until he let Danks face the heart of the order a third time.

The defense has actually been incredible.

I think getting Avi out of the lineup and somebody with a pulse in will do wonders. The good news is they aren't a defensive trainwreck and even the guys who aren't hitting are at least playing the field well.

He is the one who should have been sent down to the minors instead of Shuck. Hopefully Shuck kills it for a couple of weeks. I really think Avi needs to spend some time in the minor leagues to get right.
