Almora is off to a good start at AAA this year, currently batting .368 with his first homer coming in their last game. He was already considered ready to play in the majors defensively, so this offensive improvement is significant. Do the Cubs let him get 300 or more at bats at AAA or even wait till September to call him up? Or do they move him up sooner? I'm guessing he stays at AAA till August at least, unless there is an injury to Heyward or Fowler. But the progress is great to see, with Fowler likely to opt out of his option year after this season.

When he hits .400 this season, he is going to ask for $40M for 10 years.

Well, they could trade Soler and move Fowler to LF and install Almora in CF and have a great defensive outfield....Of course with Schwarber's surgery going well, it's likely he will be back out there though. Good problems.

Steve Trout is old. Fastball at best probably 66 MPH now.

Don't think it is that crazy. The Angels are void of minor league talent and they need to do something with Trout.

It is a controlling deal, but 15 M, then 33 M for 3 more years each, so its not friendly.

But they really have nothing and they owe some big money, with Pujols money still gonna be on the books after he is done plus 2 more years of Hamilton at $24M they owe.

They are a prime team to rebuild and the Cubs have the haul that might just work.

I know the Angels owners will spend and spend, but as you have seen, even the Yankess stopped at some point.

Then who cares if you have the MVP and you are a losing team for the next 4 years of his career.

Of course it is a reach and would be one of the biggest deals in baseball history, but I think both teams might be in the positions to make such a trade.

Schwarber, Almora, Baez, Happ, Contreras and some pitching for Trout and some A level pitching that might work out one day.
