he is a huge hit when with Kelly and Mike and now he causes Drama going to Good Morning America, he is the man with the plan, ultra popular with the fat ass moo moo , drape wearing crowd.

Yet, on the set FOX football set, I see him as the weak link. The guy who isnt prepared and relies 100% on the "When I played" aspect of things. Occasinally sees someone elses blurb and goes out of his way to work it into a show.

I think he liked the sport of football but hated the people in it

He obviously loves talking to hot girls and loves switching to other hot girls

He's ok in a football role but he is great in a non-football role.

Howie's affected facial expressions are pretty great.

The man can act.

I still love how he acts like he is a legitimate Hall of Famer. Imo, he was at best only the second best player on the LA Raiders defensive line (Greg Townsend)

As for Strahan, I'll never understand his popularity on or off the football field.

Too bad people dont appreciate the straight man these days!

Howie knows the game and it helps that he talks to his kids daily, Howie is the full out breakdown. Terry is the comedy and Jimmy is the guy who knows what he is talking about, but enjoys the comedy.

Strahan is the guy who shows up 3 minutes before they go live and asks, "Who are the Bears playing today?...Hold on, Kelly is calling about the Monday show when we are baking some healthy cookies"

I agree, Howie was good, but never saw him as a dominating player, going to say being the good guy and kissing sportswriters asses helped.

If you ever heard Pompei talk about that process, it is one guy (usually writer) brings a guy or guys to the table for nomination and they make a case for him, and then maybe or not he gets on the ballot. Pompei did it for Hamp

I don't think it is that obvious, unless you literally mean just talking with the girls.

I hate what Fox has done with pre games. Is it really too much to ask that they just do a straight football show for 30 minutes before kick offs?

Yeah, because the NFL Network starts their straight football show on Saturday night & ESPN rolls out Jaworski, et al not long after that. By 11am even non-gamblers have known the injury reports, the spreads, the rationale, the weather and playoff positioning for an hour or two. There really isn't much left for a straight show.

Low rent buffoonery will have to do to justify the ad rates.

I used to think Howie Long was hot. He's okay now. I haven't watched a pregame in years.

Is there a team of jimmypasta comedy writers or is this material all your own?

It seemed that Mike Greenberg was nearly selected to cohost with Kelley/Kelli/Kelly when Strahan won the job. Greeney seems to lean more that way every day, any chance he jumps from the M&M show to TV? Golic would probably just retire to AZ, and open the doors for Rusillo and some other clown. Then I have to weigh North/Fuhrman against Mully/Handley, or just awkward silence

Sitting around this morning the coffee cluth, the women saying how they love Strahan. They just think he is great.

I explained he is the low man on the football show.

I know the guy made alot of money playing football, but I also know he lost alot to his first wife and I know he spends a lot. Not like 100K in the club spending, but designer clothes, cars, trips, etc and i am just guessing the Good Morning gig was just a case of them throwing money at him.

I hope FOX drops him, but I have a feeling that potential for Crossover viewers of the female crowd is his ace in the hole.

Would be great if he watched games during the week and not just the few plays they would talk about.

ALSO, used to be a time when the most recent player could say "I talked to some guys this week...." and Strahan has lost that connection at this point. I think if he ever ran into a guy he would talk to him, but at this point the only connection the regs have to the league is howie. Might need to put Glazer on set

Strahans deal with good morning America is worth more than $20 million per year, proving that there are really stupid people in management at ABC.

Couldn't agree with you more, BF. Strahan doesn't deserve to be sitting at the same desk with the three legends on Fox NFL pre-game. He's nothing more than an opportunist.

But if not Strahan, who should be there? Maybe no one. Three is enough. But if I had to pick a Strahan replacement, I would poach Chris Carter from ESPN.
