For pretty much the entire 2nd half of transition. Wow. The resentment and hate drinky has for Bernstein is quite something.

He was blaming dan for bad callers yesterday by mentioning how good they all were and asking what was different. He even suggested that dan somehow purposely fucks with the beginning of the call to put the caller off balance.

Drinky is having a mid life crisis. He thought he's have his own show by now. Instead he is watching slappy and grimace.

He probably knows he's not up for consideration when Boers retires.

You notice no one disagrees with Drinky last two days he did it do you? Also, Goff mentions Dan has to come back tomorrow because he is too insecure to take a whole week off.

He was too busy being on the ground floor of the Deerfield rap scene.

I believe you should be listening to the Sox game. The only time you should be listening to the Score is when the Cubs are on or before 9:00 AM.

I felt a little bad for drinky. Conversation got down right depressing in transition.

- Drinky said Bernstein wouldn't care if drinky got cancer. Goff squirmed when drinky said this saying "C'mom man".

- Drinky said, in a sad voice, whenever there is a full time talk show hosting jobs at the SCORE, he will never get one.

- Goff said there are only three things Bernstein cares about. And it's all family. So you figure his wife and 2 kids obviously. Then drinky chimes in with "I didn't know Dan considered money to be family." Jeez. That was a nice jab. It was also a little anti-Semitic.

It really hurts drinky that Dan has no respect or concern for him. That he just considers him his "Dumb ass producer that answers his phone calls" and that's it.

I get the feeling that Bernstein promised Drinky better. I bet Drinky had some minor opportunities, like weekends, but Bernstein talked him into staying.

2013

Drinky: hey Dan, Mitch just offered me some weekend shows

Bernstein: Why would you want to do that?

Drinky: I don't want to be a producer all my life. I'm not getting any younger.

Bernstein: Neither is Terry. Wink, wink.

Drinky: Oh. I'm picking up what you are laying down. Wink Wink

2016

Drinky: HEY I HEARD TERRY IS FINALLY RETIRING!

Bernstein: Yeah. :(

Drinky: Finally! My big chance!!

Bernstein: For what?

Drinky: You know.....Berns and Drinky Show

Bernstein: You'll have to talk to Mitch and Baldy McBossy.

Julie: HEY THE POLICY IS THAT CBS MUST POST ALL OPENINGS. CANT WAIT TO APPLY DAN!!

he absolutely uses the mute button and interrupts callers with questions in an attempt to get the caller to show weakness.... "give specifics" is his favorite phrase to throw a caller off

That's just it. Today and at other times he's not joking. You can tell in the tone of his voice when he's just fucking around and when he's dead serious.

Like I've said, there needs to be a producer swap. Not only for drinky's sanity but for the good of the shows. Trade Zawaski for drinky and there will be new life to the shows. Drinky will give a damn once again. Zawaski will try hard for Bernstein for a year or two and then not care like drinky once he figures out that Bernstein doesn't give a damn about him. But then you just swap out Zawaski.

That's the key. No producer should be with Dan for more than 2 years.

You listening, Mitch? It's actually a great idea and correct.

I love that Drinky, the producer of the B&B show, lectures us today about political correctness, when they all had no qualms about making fun of a mentally handicap person on the air.

These people have no shame whatsoever. Boers is every much the hypocrite, too, I'm sorry to say.

If anyone deserves a suspension for verbal offenses, it's Boers and Bernstein.

What YEAR is this Terry??

Bernstein: Just admit you don't know his music either. I mean, admit it.
Boers: I don't know--I think I uh know some of his music--didn't he ah, do a movie? Back in the 1980's?
Bernstein: Who cares. What did he do?
Boers: I think he wrote that uh, he wrote uh--
Bernstein: He's only known through the...vestibules...of Facebook. Trending. He's trending!
Boers: Vestibules. Ooh, I know. He did that "Purple Rain" didn't he? Wasn't that him? Or was it "Breakin' 2: Electric Boogaloo"?
Drinky: He wrote "Nothing Compares 2 U", Dan. The biggest song Sinead O'Connor ever did.
Bernstein: Who cares.
Boers: "Nothing Compares 2 U"? Was that before or after she uh tore up that uh picture of the Pope?
Bernstein: Let's move on.
Drinky: No, Dan, he wrote a lot of great songs. "Purple Rain", "When Doves Cry", he did all the songs for the first "Batman" movie.
<Laughter>
Bernstein: Batman?! With Christian Bale? He did Batman music?
Drinky: No, the first "Batman", with Michael Keaton.
Bernstein: Batman, like I said, who cares.
Boers: Oh, "Batman". Did he duet with Nicholson?
Bernstein: You have the Score.

I'm not a psychiatrist. I mean not technically. Only because I don't have a degree in it. But I'm just as good as one despite that.

Drinky will reach a boiling point if he continues with Bernstein. He must be traded to the midday show. Or I fear something horrible will happen. DRINKY WILL GO POSTAL. Guess who will be the victim?

Bernstein:

Beardown: You got it, oh great one.

Bernstein: Mitch!!!!!

Drinky: 8)

Bernstein:

This podcast encapsulated what has been good about The Score, and in getting some uncut Abbattacola we learned a lot about what has gone wrong with The Score. A newspaper guy and a former newspaper guy, the latter who has been bottled up by his partner. An enthusiastic voice, that despite the enthusiasm struggles to tell a coherent story. Interrupting the newspaper guy he goes on to tell us about "this guy, this dude, he uh, uh, he, this dude comes off as being a tough dude, ask his former teammates, they'll tell you, he'll uh, he'll, uh, uh, square up on a dude. The, the, the thing, the thing with dude, he, uh, he uh,....."

And finally someone who works with the problem and claims he's not afraid of the problem. He then goes on to explain how he's a problem and then why. What has taken The Score down is the perception that Dan needs to be emulated to be successful. Dan, according to Matt, doesn't give a shit and has essentially taken his shock jock persona to an unnecessary level. Matt has seen enough to know and speak.

Unfortunately, after that podcast I listened to a little of the show. I won't go into how certain words used to be a staple of their show(s), but having segment after segment of discussion with the line being arbitrarily drawn as to what is "acceptable" today and the amount of indignation that follows is shitty sports radio. Listening to Boers fumble trying to explain this in a cogent way is like listening to an old redneck explain and lecture on why he doesn't use certain words today, but did yesterday so let's not talk about it.

I like sports, I like hearing opinions that are genuine and honest. Being articulate helps, have some degree of maturity helps even more. Having a sense of open awareness can be a plus. I haven't believed I've heard this in a long time (when I've listened) and what Abbattacola said supports my belief.
