After 25 games, the Chicago Bulls are 9-16.

Is the season over ? We know they have had slow starts before, but this is now well past a slow start.

Upcoming games (through January 11th):

Outside of SA, every game on this trip is winnable. I'll predict an overall record of 4-3 (3-1 at home, 1-2 on the road).

@ SA
vs MIL
@ Charlotte
vs Portland
vs Sacramento
vs NY
@ Philly

This is the worst I ever seen them play. Even when they went on losing streaks in the past they still played hard and aggressive defense. Now they just look Lackadaisical and could give a shit. If there isn't a shake-up (trade, benching starters..etc) in the next three to four weeks they could be back in the lottery.

As patient as Paxson is, I don't think we'll see anything meaningful happen to this roster until the off-season with the trade deadline in February being a lesser possibility.

At this point, you have to make changes to the starting lineup - it doesn't mean the results will change, but, even if just for a few games, it might send a message to a few of these guys - Hinrich and Ben Wallace, in particular - that you have to play well to regain your starting job.

Their defense is horrible - I don't care how high they are ranked in opponents FG % - they don't get stops, and opponents get second chances very often.

Offensively, no post game, no players, besides Deng and Nocioni occasionally, who are able to attack the basket and score, a lot of bad passes, and unforced turnovers.

I have no idea what happened to this team, maybe they weren't good enough to get out of the East, but they shouldn't have been this bad.

Pax should have made a push for Garnett. 21-3 with, as Mike North put it, three real players.

Thats cuz Mike North is an idiot. Rondo and Perkins have to at least be considered average, and their bench is playing pretty well. Alot of the players have bought into their roles and they are playing very well right now beyond the big 3. This team could win 70 games.

As for your main point, I agree. Pax has fucked up by now getting KG or Kobe, and he definitely could have had them by now if he wanted. He hasnt even gotten Gasol or a second tier all star. Its like everyone associated with Chicago sports wants to be as arrogant and stubborn as possible untill the whole city turns on them.

He fell in love with his draft picks, and wanted this team to continue improve from within. It hasn't happened, but I don't think anything will happen (major) until the off-season.

I'm with Pax when he says you don't make a deal just for the sake of making one. Looks like he is trying to get something done now when he should have made it happen in the offseason. There were teams that actually wanted Wallace at that time. I would imagine there are none now.

Wallace will become valuable again after next season when he just one year left on his deal....I know Paxson is probably talking daily, but we'd have to find a team that is looking to trade a big, and unless we're just talking another bench type player, I don't see any major trades happening for now.

Portland is 10-0 over their last 10 games.

Milwaukee, NY, Philly have all already beaten the Bulls once.

Orlando is in there as well

Bulls could easily be 9-20 by the New Year:

@ SA
MIL
@ NYK @ 11 am CST (early start on Sunday morning in NYC is gonna be tough for the Bulls)
ORL

saturday night's game was a perfect display of this team.

they start off super hot shooting, but you knew that once they cooled down, they would lose the lead. thats exactly what happened. if they're not shooting at 60%, they're going to lose.

more than that, the whole aaron gray fan club can now take a step back after seeing him look like a big lunk. he had guys blow by him all night - he is so slow. and then he would go up for putbacks like a wimp. no power displayed and as a result he was rejected a few times.

all that being said, here is the worst:

hinrich - 22 points
gordon - 18 points
smith - 16 points
deng - 21 points

AND YOU STILL LOST BY 18 POINTS

you got exactly what i think everybody would want...around 20 points from your three "guys" and you still got killed.

this team sucks. its not even fun to watch anymore.

I watch a lot of Portland games, and they have really come into their own. Playing very well.

Did I miss Orlando ? That's a loss because we can't defend Dwight Howard, and their 3 point shooters will have a field day.
