His velocity went down, but that doesn't answer the original question as much as it posits a new question. I have no idea what Gonzalez stuff has looked like in Charlotte, but I know the result there have been pretty good. Gonzalez has had Toronto's number in his career.

If the Sox can hire Chris Bosio to work on his delivery then Gonzalez will be on his way to Cy Young for sure, probably MVP as well.

This is the type of game that Championship caliber teams win. You have a call up making a spot start, and he gives up a bunch of runs early. The offense bails him out later and the bullpen- which has been spectacular- closes the door.
