You haven't been reading.
Obvious roids are obvious. Any good pitching outing means steroids. C'mon man.
You don't need to rip people off for $5 to know that.

Although it helps.

I think you're confusing "good pitching outing" with "most dominant 25 game stretch in the history of baseball by a pitcher who was basically thrown away by an AL team."
Fixed.

Thrown away by an AL team......Okay, I guess Feldman and Cleavenger going to Baltimore is the same as getting released  AND I guess the thrown away line is supposed to indicate that he wasn't good enough for the superior AL? For the sake of argument, lets assume all that is reasonable. That makes the dramatic improvement by Latos even more suspicious. He goes from a 4.95 ERA in 2015 in the National league mostly, with the Marlins and Dodgers, to a 4-0 stretch with a 0.75 ERA in the AL. Very suspect.....

Do you just pull shit out of your asshole? Latos has had four game winning streaks multiple times in his career.

That's funny, because it was just reported on the Score during the Cubs game that Latos has just won 4 games consecutively for the first time in his career. Please show me when he did it before.

Why don't you check his game logs in 2012 and 2013 instead of believing everything you hear from the station that reported LeBron to the Bulls was imminent.

Fledman & Cleavenger for Arrietta was basically garbage for garbage at the time the trade was made. Sometimes a change of scenery helps guys and after a trade or being picked up from the scrap heap they have some success.

I'm not going to bother researching all that. But lets say that what was reported was incorrect. Explain going from a 4.95 ERA pitching for 3 teams in 2015, to having a 0.75 ERA this year. just a small sample size and you expect significant regression?

Probably drugs.

Can you allow for the same possibility for Arrieta?

He's not going to have an 0.75 ERA for the season, but he's pitching just like he always has when he's been healthy. I don't know if his knee will hold up.

Yeah, I would consider 2 no-hitters, a Cy Young award, leading the league in victories last year and so far this year.....some success.

Latos had a seven game streak and a four game streak in 2012.

http://www.baseball-reference.com/playe ... &year=2013

He had a six and a four game streak in 2013.

Elmhurst Steve is clueless.

What did "bother(ing) to research all of that" take you, Chus? 90 seconds?

Mat Latos = 4-0, .74 ERA, 7BB/13SO, .822 WHIP, 1.2 WAR
Jason Hammel = 3-0, .75 ERA, 9BB/22SO, 1.042 WHIP, 1.2 WAR

SO, Mat is basically Jason Hammel right now. He's a journeyman pitcher who has had a couple of good seasons in his career and has gotten off to a fast start. Let's talk again come June.

American League. If Hammel had to start a game against Texas he would give up 6 ER before getting 6 outs.

I guess if you think .822 and 1.042 are the same. Apparently, it's not just girls who struggle with math.

Okay, so the guy on the Score got the facts wrong. The 2012 and 2013 seasons were obviously good ones for Latos. But since then his level of performance has declined. Declined dramatically in 2015 with ERA's in the mid to upper 4's with 2 teams and over 6 with the Dodgers. But now he's at 0.75? If anyone is suspect, it's this guy....

Sox fans are not going to have an emotional meltdown over the idea that Mat fucking Latos is using roids. You cant project your childish Cubs fan mentality onto the Sox, we aren't going to cry ourselves to sleep because somebody said something mean about a baseball player on the internet.

I am on record as expressing it was a smart signing. I thought he would be a big improvement on the guys they had in that slot in the rotation. I thought he might be over .500, but 4-0 and 0.75 is a shocker.

I have said nothing mean about Latos. I just said his results so far in 2016 are pause for thought when they are so significantly better than his results just last season.

Nope. Arrieta's success is just a continuation of what he did last year, particularly after the All-Star break.
