I dislike sacrifice bunts as much as anyone, but there's little risk when the next two guys up are likely to strikeout anyway.

I didn't hear this. I heard a little bit, but not all of it. But I didn't hear any of this. Dan was making some comparison to the Cubs being a successful NFL team, given their size and athleticism?

He was going on about the Cubs having the tallest outfield ever.

I make a habit of turning it off as soon as Goff says "playa". I usually make it about 3-5 minutes.

Dude absolutely sucks at radio. And life.

That's because he has no fucking idea who Frank Howard, Tommie Davis, and Don Demeter were.

If "Who's your guy?" is their idea of show prep, I'd rather they go back to insulting random callers. The best part was when one caller gave them a different "guy" than he told the call screener, which pissed off Bernstein because it would have taken a few extra seconds to pull up the scouting report for the new guy.

"Host reads requested scouting reports from a Hub Arkush publication" is the kind of thing B&B would parody if North, Murph, or Mac did it.

Tranny has become almost unlistenable. Way more talking over each other than ever and giggling about stuff that I'm not even sure that they're giggling about.

At least when The Heavy Fuel Crew and Monsters did it, it was entertaining and fun. This has just become annoying and button push worthy.

I think it kind of is self-parody though, which is why it's one of the few B&B segments that's still enjoyable. There's drops, Terry makes funny noises, and Dan reads a bunch. Plus they at least keep with the mindset that NFL scouting reports are goofy as hell. It's possible by tomorrow they comment on the problematic nature of measuring 'grit' vis a vis race, but so far so good.

The station's greatest foray into self-parody was the time they had Abbatacola do poorly read versions of CBS Sports Minutes. It was funny until they had him booked to do updates on the same day as the bit, and it became excruciatingly evident that sounding like a resource-room third-grader wasn't part of the bit, it was just how he reads copy.

Making Mattabatta Cola (tastes horrible) the Cubs "expert" for no apparent reason was also pretty special.
