This is the most posted/replied/viewed show on the message board, but yet all ya'll got to say is the same ol, same ol.....

"North Sucks"
"The Show Sucks"
"I'm Not Listening Anymore"
"North's CD sucks"
"I'd Do Jen Jen"
"Buch Makes Too Much"
"Rock is a Loser"
"Fred's Fat"
"Anne's Has No Talent, and Doesn't Know Sports"
"BLAH BLAH BLAH"

Ya know, sometimes when I check the boards, I can predict what it's gonna say, and about 98.2% of the time......I'M RIGHT!!!! (I should be a handicapper on Sunday Mornings)

If you're so fed up with the show, they're plenty of other "bad" radio shows out there for ya, take your pick.

But as for these boards, they have grown boring and tiresome........

Here's some facts for ya'll on these boards.....
#1 - All of us are damn proud of what we do
#2 - We're not going anywhere unless something drastic were to happen
#3 - We do read these boards (all of us)
#4 - All these "insiders", come on ya'll.......everyone's an expert when it comes to posting annoymously on message boards.

OK....I had to rant, don't know why, maybe it was the whiskey and Pantera songs today. (R.I.P. Dime)

Anywayz, I'm sure you all are gonna go off on me and shit, but if you got something to say, ya'll know where you can reach me at.

OK . . . I'll bite . . .

Quote:
#1 - All of us are damn proud of what we do

Kind of like being proud of a really nice turd? That's what your comments on this board are like Rock . . . you want us to all come into the bathroom and take in the glory of your latest bowel movement.

Quote:
#2 - We're not going anywhere unless something drastic were to happen

Sounds like to me you're like a disease with no cure. All I know is whomever comes up with the cure will be considered a fucking genius for figuring out the simplest thing.

Quote:
#3 - We do read these boards (all of us)

Well, no one ever said you weren't all sychopants. This really doesn't matter to me. Drink up your fifteen minutes Rock - you'll be pushing home equity and mortgage loans in approximately 6-12 months and no one will be talking about you.

Quote:
#4 - All these "insiders", come on ya'll.......everyone's an expert when it comes to posting annoymously on message boards.

This is your only good point - your are 100% right, but too fucking bad. I'm Ed Asner, muthafucka, and I'll continue to post as such.

Peace out

Seriously though, can Mike read? I just thought all the on air reads and commercials were done with picture cards

Thanks, Coach.

I think I've been pretty consistent in saying that I like Mike when he talks sports. However, even at his best he would only be commercial time filler during Stern. This does not degrade Mike as the same would be true of anyone.

Did someone from the show advise Coast to Coast not to post anymore?

Can you tell Mike to keep his mouth shut when you drop Pantera riffs in? Despite the fact that I have their entire published body of work on the digital player, I still enjoy when their stuff comes on when I least expect it. Very few things piss me off more than a host with zero appreciation for the Abbot brothers' and Anselmo's talent (Rex - I could live without) jumping in the middle of the opening riffs crisp and powerful in their simplicity (love Randall amps for rhythm not as much for solos!)

Hate to offer a cheap shot, but doesn't this really just say: "I know the audience hates the show"? If that's how you really feel, why are you defending it?

If you read the boards, then you do you think that all these opinions are uninformed and unfair? Do you expect only to get good feedback? If all these people have negative opinions, why do you have defend what you're doing rather than step back, take a look at what isn't working, and think about changing it?

I'm posting because I'm a big fan of the radio station. And I'm not complaining today because I want to be mean. I actually like most of what's on and don't want to see it tank. So I get upset when my favorite sports station seems to veer away from sports during the time I (used to) like to listen the most.

Well said, my man. SHUT THE F*CK UP MIKE!! It's the only listenable part of the show.

Don't mean to change the subject here but, when you get a chance, in brief terms, can you give a reason(s) Stern appeals to so many people? I never listened for longer than 5 minutes and tuned out only because he had somebody I never heard of or cared to know about on: actors, musicians, writers, strippers, porn stars, Hollywood crowd. The exact same reason I don't listen to Mike's show much anymore although it wasn't that long ago that anything with Pappy was considered a "can't miss" in my book, be that radio or his CLTV gig.

At the same time I realize that Stern has an enormous audience. What's the deal here? Can anyone explain?

It's simple to explain to you. You are not a fan of the lowest common denominator. People tune into Stern because its a radio peep show. Things he says and does, people are afraid to do and say themselves. The outrageous when overdone, becomes boring. You can only push the stripper, lesbian, Hollywood whore thing so far before you have to move to Sirius satellite. Opie and Anthony are a good example. Mike's act is based on being loud and pushing a smaller envelope. The whole Chicago guy image is gone, so he must seek to tittilate or shock.

Stern and Dahl were masters at this. Mike is just another bad impersonator. He can't go to Sirius because he doesn't have the following that Stern or Opie had. Mike has been doing this mini shock thing for years, and he has done it since he went to mornings. Ask Rock, it was the basis for the whole lame Tookie bit the other day.

I don't get Stern either. He was relevant and cutting edge...15 years ago. Now it's just same shit, different day. Interviews with bimbos and bitching about the FCC. He was on 60 Minutes saying he never sold out his fans. That's why you're going to go to Sirius and charging them to hear you huh?

Thanks for the brilliant insight. It does show the minimal mentality of all those associated with the show.
Seeing that you and your associates have such a disdain for listeners and former listeners, it is little wonder the ratings are where they are. I would disagree with you on your assessment of the opinions on this board, as the ratings show, they do represent a good portion of the listening audience. If you are too naive to see that, then I feel sorry for you.
Trying to really make sense out of your post leads me to the conclusion that you are drinking way too much.
When the show becomes a sports show without the North ego, maybe I'll listen again. BTW, how many CD's were you forced to buy?

The point you miss Rock are as follows

North constanly brings up that athletes are making too much

I've heard North comment on women and the fact that he would do so and so

North has commented on people being fat

North has said that so and so show sucks.

Can you some how grasp the hypocracy of you statements rock.

Ofcourse we know that you are proud of the show. You work there. North is king to you. Everything he does is brilliant. You fail to understand that we would like to listen to the show. But it is just awful.

By the way Rock, guys saying that they would do Jen Jen is a compliment. Would any women rather a guy say "I wouldn't touch you with my buddies dick".

I think she would be more offended by people calling her a bimbo. But I notice you didn't defend that.

Rock I'll give you a compliment. I think Anusface would do you.

Now get a good rest tonight because tomorrow is another day of kissing mikes ass and saying. "Pappy that was some great radio"

I used to think that only Pappy was the stuborn one. But Rock has me convinced that the entire staff is. Even if you think that everyone on this board is an idiot. Fact is we make valid points that you fail to respond too.

Its sad that every day you leave that studio, everyone on that staff believes that they produced a solid show. Rock, you always say "I don't care what you guys say our show is great."

Rock you are loosing to a National show that puts little time or effort into the chicago audience. The ratings don't lie.

Here is an analogy of your stuborn stupidity. An NFL coach goes 2-14 and stands before the Media and says "I don't care what the fans and media say, I think we have a good team and we will have the same players and same coaches next year"

Don't you think that your King Pappy would rip into that coach. I hope you can understand the point Rock but I think Pappy's stupidity is rubbing off on all of you.

I think Rock is confusing activity with accomplishment. Part of that issue is that the activity is mostly his.

Let me guess that Fred , Annie and Mike don't spend so much time on the show. Annie goes home and complains to Harvey about what an Ass Mike is, fred goes to play Video Games and Mike goes out to lunch, meetings and selling sponsorships for everything 9which is why he is still there).

Let me tell rock he should take my explanation, because if Annie, Fred or Mike say they work on the show, then there is no hope

Contrary to what Rock says, I don't think everyone there reads the board. There is a good number of people that honestly don't care. Why would/should they?

And why is this Ed Asner guy such a douchebag? Anyone know?

Rock you got some balls to have your attitude with such horrible ratings. Its bad enough that you are loosing to a national sports show. But for the amount of money North gets his bosses were expecting him to compete with WGN, Stern, WLS and all of the other big timers.

Rock the board has always been the negativity that you have said is boaring. I think your post is a sighn of frustration because now you have to admit that we were right all along

I do, Rock, thanks.

Everyone on the show reads the boards? More like some get them read TO them because I doubt a guy that can't even pronounce his own monosyllabic last name correctly would be able to read.

Keep up the fantastic work on your hypocritical, idiotic, bigoted show.

P.S. Buch makes too much, Jen is ugly, Anne does nothing, and Fred is fat

I don't think Infinity or 'SRC management, whoever was responsible for moving Mike to mornings, ever expected the show to succeed. There has to be a clause in his contract dealing with ratings that he can't possibly meet in the morning drive timeslot that saves the company a whole bunch of money.

Ok I just have 2 simple questions:

1. Does anyone at the station take any recommendations from the fans on how to improve the show?

2. The show has been on for 15 months now, yet Mike and Mike are still beating them in the ratings? What gives?

Huh?? The guy's making 1.7 million a year. How in the hell is the company saving money? Maybe the fine print said "We'll pay you 3 million a year, unless you can't beat a gospel station." Plus, why would anyone in management ever put a show on that they knew would fail?

Rock, a couple quick suggestions to make the show even somewhat listenable:

1. Tell Mike to SHUT THE FUCK UP about anything to do with politics. Seriously, no one outside of Mike's bar buddies wants to hear him regurgitating the latest neo-Nazi talking points from Rush Limbaugh and Ann Coulter.

2. Tell Annie the same thing.

3. Tell Fred to grow a pair and actually contribute something besides just agreeing with everything Mike says.

4. TALK ABOUT SPORTS, dammit.

5. Tell Mike to get into the 21st century and fucking get over the fact that "blacks get to do this while if a white guy does the same thing..." So freaking tiresome. Poor Mr. Oppressed White Male.

How much of that $1.7M is guaranteed and how much of it is based on incentives? It was such a shocking deal by industry standards that I'd bet that a good deal of it was based on incentives.

As far as why would management put on a show that fails, it's quite simple. They were stuck with Mike and that contract whatever slot they put him in. Putting him in the mornings means tougher competition, fewer incentives earned and he only has to EQUAL Murphy's pitiful numbers for the station to come out ahead on all fronts in the big picture.

Stern is a fantastic interviewer. When he has an entertainer on that we have already seen doint Letterman, Leno, etc. he illicites something different than anyone else has. If he has the stripper or porn star on he tries to get something out of them other than the obvious information.

However that is only a small portion of the show. I love how he is an iconoclast/social critc who is willing to render an opinion on the most sacred of topics. The way that he seperates himself from the large pool of political/social talkers out there is that he does it in a funny manner. Who else would put a Klansman, the God Hates Fags family, a black midget, two retarded people, etc. on a panel mocking game shows? It is like performance art while being a multi layered critique of common viewpoints in the US.

I don't expect everyone to think the show is good. However, I think it is worth a listen so that you can get past the stereotypical complaints about porn stars and strippers (by the way, porn stars and strippers can be interesting outside of their given professions).

Rock, You are so off base. I have been reading this board for only a short time but from what I can see is that a bunch of listeners just want to see an improved show. THAT"S IT. It was Mike himself who said two months ago that the show does need some improvements. NOTHING HAS HAPPENED!!!! its the same old stuff. Why doesn't someone go on the air next week and address this? It would be more productive than putting up a stupid post.
I am Score Listener always will be, but it is YOUR SHOW that drives me away in the mornings....

"North Sucks" North doesn't suck, but I think he's long his touch.
"The Show Sucks" I don't think it sucks, but it needs changes - STILL.
"I'm Not Listening Anymore" I've cut down my listening time to about 10 minutes a show of late because the conversations just aren't that good - North takes ridiculous positions and/or is tired of talking sports and goes off on topics nobody cares about.
"I'd Do Jen Jen" Remains True
"Fred's Fat" - I believe this is still true.
"Anne's Has No Talent, and Doesn't Know Sports" This played out well.
"BLAH BLAH BLAH" Kind of sums up the show, at least when I listen.
