Good to see Bryant (walk) and Rizzo (RBI single) pick up Heyward there. Nice insurance run tacked on.

Greatest slide in the history of baseball.

Anyone else notice how none of the Cubs players wear anything on their head and face to stay warm? Not even Soler. They're no longer afraid of Bear weather.

The Hebrew Hammer makes Strop pay for walking a pair. Gotta attack hitters with the wind blowing in.

Strop has been mostly really good. In this game, he should know better than to walk anyone. With the cold wind blowing in, he needs to challenge the hitters and even let them hit the ball when behind in the count rather than walking guys.

Well, Heyward hasn't done a thing yet tonight, but with the bases loaded and 2 out, he has a chance for redemption. Maybe he can coax a walk.....nope.

The 2 walks were stupid, but give some credit to Braun. He hit the ball well and it's no surprise, as he's been one of the best hitters in the league early in the season. Good to open the series with a win. The next 2 games the Cubs have HUGE advantages in the pitching match-ups.

Arrieta we all know about....on a historical streak dating back to last season. But what about the Brewers starter tonight Taylor Jungmann? He's had 4 starts this season and gone just 17 innings ( so he's averaging just 4 1/3 innings per start) in them with an 0-3 record and an 8.47 ERA. He has a 1.82 WHIP with 10 walks VS 11 K's. His fastball sits at just 89-90 MPH. In his career, he is 9-11 with an ERA of 4.36 so perhaps he's not as bad as his stats for 2016 tend to suggest. But with Arrieta pitching, my biggest concern is with the weather cooperating.

Okay, lets look at the facts....Jungmann has an ERA of 8.47, 0-3 so far on the year. He has almost as many walks (10) as strikeouts and throws only 89-90 MPH and a WHIP of 1.82. Yet you think against the Cubs offense (who like taking walks) and Arrieta, who has an ERA under 1.00 , that the Brewers are the team to wager on? Hey, crazy stuff happens sometimes, but the trend is your friend in gambling and every trend favors the Cubs. Rain is the only big concern.

That for sure and the value.

Arietta is great but he's capable of mediocre games. (See NLDS and NLCS)

I wouldn't even pitch Jake.. Toss Wood out there and wait for the rains...minus 400 might be a great get if they get the game in and no Jake.
