Hard to believe the Cubs are already 10 games over .500. With Arrieta and Lester scheduled (weather permitting) to face Brewers pitchers with ERA's over 8 and 9 respectively, and then the struggling Braves coming to town, the good stretch may very well continue for a while. Tack on and keep it rolling...

What's hard for me to believe is that they are 10 over while you have the following guys with these averages...

Heyward .244
Rizzo .205
Zobrist .246
Soler .185
Russell .234
Montero .208

Winning by 1 run against AAA Milwaukee hardly counts.

They count just as much as wins against the Twinkies count.

Rizzo is hitting better over the last 4-5 games as is Zobrist and Russell. Soler has struggled in cold weather, so there is hope that he will heat up with the weather. Heyward is just not a great hitter and Montero is streaky and on a bad streak with back problems being a factor in that.

Twins would be above .500 in the NL, but whatever. Sox have played 3 games against the Twins (won all 3) while the Cubs have had 8 games against the hapless Reds and Brewers (and they actually lost some of those games, pathetic  ).

Some? No, they have lost just one game VS the Reds while winning 6 and they have only played one (tonight) so far VS the Brew Crew and won that. Try again dipshit. The only thing that is pathetic, is your sad attempt to discredit the team with the best record in Baseball.

Which is an excellent demonstration of the relative uselessness of BA as a singluar measure of a hitter's ability.

Or it shows that key starters in the lineup are not hitting well...?

While they may not be hitting very well overall, guys like Rizzo and Russell have had some huge timely hits. It's not just how many hits you get, but when you get them. Do you get hits with runners in scoring position? Particularly with 2 outs? Do you get a runner in from third with less than 2 outs, even if you do it with a productive out, rather than a hit? But certainly the team does have some hitters that should be more productive and probably will be. it's likely to just get better!

The Twins and Brewers split a 4 game series this year, which again is the AAA team?

No, it counts the same as winning by 10 runs.

If that's true I hope Cub fans will cease siting the team's unprecedented run differential.

Good to see almost ALL the envious sox fans still focused on the Cubs.

No, the Cubs are 15-5 and with Jake pitching tonight I think 16-5 is more likely afterwards.

-360 on that game

I usually don't blanche at crazy lines for something I consider a sure thing but this one is rough. Injury, bad bullpen, bad offense or a lucky swing can all set you back some coin tonight. I know that kind of money doesn't matter to some.
