Kasper does say a fuckton of exaggerated things on the score. I get that he is a salesman for the team but it's a bit much. Or maybe it wouldn't bug me as much if the ass slurping hosts weren't hanging on his every word.

There’s significance to the 116.5 line. The MLB record for wins in a season is 116, shared by the 1906 Cubs and the 2001 Seattle Mariners. Those Cubs went 116-36, while those Mariners went 116-46.

The Cubs are currently on a 119-win pace. They also boast a plus-68 run differential in just 19 games, which easily outpaces the Cardinals’ plus-40 mark that’s second-best in the league.

I saw where Rizzo has had more runners on base for his at bats so far this season than any other hitter in the league. That was about a week ago, but may still be true. If that trend continues, 114 RBI is certainly possible. Lots of chances to drive in runners. Of course, part of that equation involved Dexter Fowler being on base just over 50% of the time, going into last night's game. I have to expect that will not continue.
