Given the choice between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump in the forthcoming presidential election, millennials are clear about who they prefer. Some 61% of young Americans say they will vote for the Democratic frontrunner and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton for president in November, while only 25% will vote for Republican frontrunner (and political outsider) Donald Trump, according to a survey released this week of over 3,100 18- to 29-year-olds by the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University; another 14% of likely young voters say they’re unsure how they will vote, the survey concluded.

because the Democrats have done such a wonderful job of supporting the lower class for the past 65 or so years. The fact these kids think Hillary is going to do anything for them, tells me the country is fucked for the future too.

It could just be they think Trump is dangerous.

Fear is the only thing these parties run on anymore. Vote for us or the evil Republicans get in. Vote for us or gays will take over your church and force regular folks to get abortions.

Mean while the owners of the country get richer.

Or just take a good, objective look and recognize that Trump stands for one thing. Trump. And that even in all things Trump he's largely clueless and attuned more to the Robb Report rather than financial, military or other reports.

Not that it matters, she's going to get elected...but since when does that generation vote?

Never before, as evidenced in 2014.

If they took a good, objective look at Hillary, they would realize she only stands for one thing: Hillary.

I thought the same thing too--what's it matter how the millennials / late gen xers / ie, "young people" vote.

Turns out, due to their relative unanimity in voting, at least compared to other age groups, young people have been swinging recent Presidential elections. Young people voted for Obama over McCain 2 to 1, while other age groups tend to fall within =/- 5% of splitting the vote evenly.

So young people have, by being in relative agreement on whom they support, picked the last 2 Presidents.

If old people had their way, or if young people were closer to 50/50 on whom they supported, we might not have had a President McCain--he got walloped by Obama + 3rd party candidates getting votes, but President Romney would have been a likely result.

But, even the oldest folks giving Romney a "landslide" percentage of their votes in 2012--56-44--wasn't enough for Romney to overcome the youth votes support of Obama

They are, but I think preferring Hillary over Trump is probably a terrible example.

Trump is intentionally sabotaging his own campaign. He didn't want to be President and he has no intention of winning the election. His goal is political anarchy. He is reaching his goal.

The GOP is almost toast. The convention will kill that party. If he still gets the nomination, he will unleash slander on Hillary in the most contentious election ever which will basically expose the democratic party and the political process for the sham it all is.

Just get the popcorn ready because he's got nothing to lose.

Appropriate choice of words.
