Chris Jones, DT/DE, Miss. St.

I've said a few times that I think the Bears are locked in on this guy. Hopefully he is there when it is time to draft.

Probably someone who would of been around in the 3rd round.

I'm going to assume that Robinson, Dodd, Jones, and Cook are gone by the time the Bears go.

At that point, they'd take Derrick Henry. If Robinson falls, they'll scoop him up fast.

But, if Connor Cook is still there, Connor Cook is your future Bears QB1.

I would be happy with this or Robinson. If they still had that 4th round pick, it would be about 100 points on the draft value chart to move from where they are at 41 up to 32.

They could have had Lawson and Robinson/Jones but they will probably end up with Floyd and Cook.

I'll have my guy David Fales blow in a call to Pace just to remind him, "Hey.."

There are only 9 teams ahead of them in round 2, two of whom already took defensive ends. One or more of guys like Robinson, Dodd, Jones, Ogbah, Spence, Reed or Bullard will be there.

I think I'd take the risk on the home run hitter Spence if he is a choice.

but I think Jones will be there and that he is the guy

Cook, then Hackenburg in the QB ratings left.

Still, have to want Henry now as I dont think Cook or Hackenburg give me anything more than a journeyman Ryan FitzqB type.

Need to stay ahead of the QB CURVE and as teams rush guys in, then they dont work, would rather look at a guy that didnt become the star right away. Ryan Mallett?

But at some point, later I would take a flyer on a QB, as Wolf said, take one every year.

Jake Coker? Sudfield? Hogan?

Losing that 4th rounder lost them the chance to take novelty picks like Aguayo, Smith, or Jack, if he continues to fall

I hope the Bears draft Cook. Everything I've heard about him is he's a colossal prick and all his teammates hate him.

Robinson is the best available player left on the board (well, minus the knee Jack is right next to him) -so if he's still there I'm taking him (Robinson)

I've already mentioned Ohio State safety Von Bell more than a few times, so I wouldn't mind the Bears going with him either.

Jarran Reed (the other DT from Alabama) is still available as is Reggie Ragland also, and I think both of those guys are good value in the 2nd round for sure.

Noah Spence is intriguing, but I'm not sure I like the Bears going after 2 projects back to back. Bottom line is; there are a lot of 1st rnd grade talent guys that slid in to the 2nd round for one reason or another, so as long as the Bears don't try to outsmart everyone else we should be in good shape to land an immediate starter for next season here.

Still, if only we stayed at 11 and still had that 4th round pick to trade to the top of the 2nd and snag Robinson.

Earlier today on either the Score or ESPN 1000 I heard Hackenburg mentioned a few times. Seems some scouts think coaching may be to blame for some of his lackluster college performances. I like Cooks talent, but that's about it -he comes off as a bit too much of a head case. Dude can make some NFL throws tho, but he makes some Cutler type decisions with the ball too.

As for Hackenburg; I watched him play over the last few seasons here and there and I am intrigued. Not sure I'd take him in the 2nd round, seems like a reach tbh. Especially when you consider all the 1st round talent that slid in to the 2nd round at other positions. 3rd round might be a safer bet if they think he'll still be there.

Jack left Chicago.

Does that mean he expect to slip past even the second round?

That has to be the worst knee in sports history if true.

If the Bears were actually good, I'd take him. But, they aren't.

Did he still have 2 legs when he left town?

Jack could be a generational talent at LB. Even if the odds of his knee forcing him out of the league are as high as 50% it still makes him worth a 2nd rounder. Shit I'd rather have bad knee Myles Jack than good knee Leonard Floyd.

Just to show you the depth of DL prospects, we haven't even talked about a guy like Shalique Calhoun, who is very talented and might be there in the third round.

It would seem like an upset for the Bears to not take a DL, wouldn't it?

I don't think they will, though.

How could they not. Everyone passed on DL talent in the first because they knew how much would be there in the second. Instead they loaded up on the very shallow talent positions while it was still around. That's what the Bears did.

There is high first round talent in any other draft on the board right now. Round 2 will be the DL round.

The Bears have done almost nothing to improve the offense.

I think most of the rest of the draft you're going to see them go for some Henrys, either the TE or the RB, or Cook, in the 2nd and probably a tackle in the 3rd or 4th.

Imagine if they took Tunsil at 11 and still had that 4th. And the talent left now in the 2nd and 3rd rounds... man the Bears had this thing laid out for them perfectly and they fucked it up. Makes it even worse that I feel rounds 2-4 is where Pace does his best work, and that inexplicably handcuffed himself to a bench while his train left the station.

I'd look for Jerell Adams (S. Carolina-TE) in the third round if they pass on Henry (or if he's gone). He made plays at South Carolina when most didn't and looked really good imo at the combine.
