This weekly wagering contest will reward the best football prognosticator with a $100 gift certificate from a meat/steak company. New guys can still join in any time and you don't have to make a pick every week. You can post your plays any time, but they must be posted before a game you are playing kicks off. You must make your picks in this thread and you must provide at least one reason for each pick. Minimum 50 picks to qualify by the end of the contest.

***Note: This is the last week of NFL regular season games. The final week of the contest will be college only, Jan.1-Jan.7. The final game is the beatdown of the Luckeyes at the hands of the very deep Tigers of LSU, who is down to -4 from a -5 1/2 open from what I see. Good Luck everybody!

Week 18 Down The Stretch They Come

Cent. Michigan v. Purdue -7 1/2 Over(71)

Chippewas have a worse D against lower quality opponents. Total Yds/Gm 450.3(108th). <--Damn! Purdue still has an Orton on the team. How can you go the other way? Purdue (7-5) hasn't opposed the same team more than once since defeating Haskell twice in a five-day span in 1898.

C. Mich 22 Purdue 50

Texas v. Arizona St. + 2 1/2 Over(61 1/2)

Sun Devils D Total Yds/Gm 334.4(28th) against Longhorns O Total Yds/Gm 462.0(14th). Texas still wins, but Colt Cabana throws a couple of INT's to keep the game close. The Sun Devils are 0-2 in previous Holiday Bowls, losing to Arkansas in 1985 and to Kansas State in 2002.
Coach Mack Brown will bring Texas (9-3) to the Holiday Bowl for the fourth time in eight years. The Longhorns lost to Oregon in 2000, beat Washington in 2001 and lost to Washington State in 2003.

Texas 32 Az. St. 30

Week 18 Part II Beef Rockmore Not So Subtle Inuenndo Threesome

Spartans v. Bald Eagles -4 1/2

Ryan hits the money shot to avoid overtime.

Horny Frogs -6 1/2 v. Cougars

Youth outlasts experience, every time.

Turtles v. Beavers -5

Too easy. Maryland not deep enough to get pentration in the hole.

Week 18 2007 Sendoff

UConn v. Wake Forest -2

Home game for Demon Deacons. Wake run D stops UConn RB trio.

Central Florida -3 v. Miss. St.

UCF RB is a star and Bulldogs have no offense to answer.

Penn St -4 1/2 v. Texas A&M

Joe Paterno has provided stability for the Penn State program for more than 40 years. Texas A&M has entrusted Gary Darnell to oversee the program for just one game.

Colorado v. Alabama -3 1/2

The Crimson Tide (6-6), Colorado (6-6) home game for Roll Tide crew.

Air Force +3 1/2 v. Cal

Falcons are gonna run run run til the end of the game. Cal 6-6.

Oregon v. South Florida -6

Ducks not who we thought they were. Bulls have too many fast guys.

Fresno St. +6 v. GT

Yellows Jackets have a defense, but no coach. Moment of silence of the Chan gailey era.

Florida St. v. Kentucky -9 1/2

Wildcats light up the score board.

Indiana v. Oklahoma St. -4

This one will be a shoostout, OSU OFF. Average Pts/Gm 33.4(9th), but Cowboys are 6-6.

Auburn +2 1/2 v. Clemson

Another awesome Peach Bowl. Both teams have great D's on 'em.

The Big One on Saturday
Patriots -13.5 vs Giants- The Patriots put this one away early and go 16-0 with an easy win, that should be put away by halftime with 2 td's at least from Brady to Moss.

DOlphins +1 vs Bengals- I see the Dolphins getting a win to close out the season.

Lions +4.5 vs Packers- Packers won't play many people, so I like the Lions.

Saints -1 vs Bears- Saints still need it, so the Saints in this one.

Broncos +3 vs Vikings- COntrol Peterson and the VIkings being demoralized after last week, I love the Broncos.

Titans -5 vs Colts- Titans still need the game and get a good win to make the playoffs.
