To judge him without knowing the velocity and movement of his pitches is silly. But should they have scouts there to watch? Of course. Any chance to improve the team should be investigated.

Why? Because his name is Tim Lincecum? Because at one time he won a pair of Cy young awards? In the past 4 seasons he had an ERA in the 4's or 5's. He is said to be throwing 91 now. Okay, with enough movement on his pitches, he might be able to pitch similar to how Hendricks does now. Again, I would investigate it, but trust him over Hendricks? I wouldn't make that leap. he's not the Lincecum of 10 years ago. For the Sox he would make more sense. If the Cubs want to bolster that 5th spot, it would make more sense to do at the trading deadline for a guy in his prime.

You kidding me? 2008 and 2009, back to back awards. Just looked up his records and was surprised at how few wins he has. Just 108. His big win total was 18 and only had 15 or more wins in 3 seasons. Lots of 10-12 win seasons . Nothing special the last 4 seasons of his career.

I doubt that. But with Erik Johnson now the Sox 5th starter, how interested would you be in Lincecum for the pale hose? He's only said to be throwing 91, but the hip is supposed to be okay now and he's just 31. Would you want him? I saw where the Royals are supposedly interested amongst 20 total teams that will be sending representatives.
