Well we're in the 8th inning of Game 2 of this series and Len and JD are already counting the number of players on the roster with a Z in their surname.

It's been a good series.

I disagree. He gets a lot of strikeouts and ground balls off weak contact. Russell made an error and it cost him an unearned run. No big deal. I'm glad he was brought back. Another gem by Baez!

Arrieta 6-0, Cubs 19-6 with a 5 game lead in the division now. Lester goes for the sweep tomorrow if the weather cooperates. Rain is in the forecast for tomorrow in Pittsburgh.

Yea, there's no drama with this team. Everyone seems like a good person and they're better than everyone else at baseball. Someone needs to get caught snorting coke at a nightclub or better yet, throw at someone's head and start a brawl and get a few guys suspended to make this interesting.

BIGGEST series of the year as per GD

The guy that beat you in the playoffs last year on the bump

No NHL playoff

61 at game time

and another sparse crowd

22,195 (57.9% full)

what's wrong with Pirate fans?

Where is Pittmike to explain this disinterest?

The Pirates have made the post-season for three consecutive seasons, never getting passed the NLDS. They were shutout by Arrieta and Bumgarner in the last two Wild Card games.

You can imagine their fanbase might be too frustrated to fill up the ballpark on a chilly Tuesday night in early May. An early May win has meant nothing for their playoff success.

Never hear any attendance talk here about Pirates. They are beloved.

When the Cubs are going for the sweep in a series VS a team that won 98 games last year and picked to be the Cubs toughest competition for the division in 2016, your post comes off as really stupid. Save that crap for when they are playing the Reds or Brewers.

Where would the Cubs be without Fowler?

Still pretty good probably, but what a start

He's not likely to maintain the production we have seen thus far, but what a start indeed. He has to be a top 3 MVP candidate if the award was given now. He's going to get one heck of a contract this winter from someone if he keeps this up.

Probably not as good (the guy lives on base) but then again, we'd more than likely still have Schwarber in the lineup so who knows?

I look for at least a couple guys to bunt on Lester today for the Pirates. He has been exposed enough for this weakness and they have to try anything to salvage a game in this series. Teams have been doing this more and more and I see no reason to believe this trend will not continue. Especially if they have a wet field as is likely to be the case today.

That's what a co worker says. Butterfly effect and all but I kinda feel like Schwarber was playing with recklessly and it may have happened anyway.

Who did we think was going to lead off? Zobrist, I guess?
