I know it is cliche, but this team feels like 2005. Similar make-up, and how they win. They are just piling up the stats and wins. Look like the best team in the AL. It is enjoyable. And knowing that it is pissing on the Cubs' victory parade is an added laugh.

Real nice win and Quintana and the bullpen continue to throw the piss out of it. It's always fun beating Boston.

While people have been crying for the release of John Danks, unnoticed by many has been the struggles of Carlos Rodon. Rodon will take the mound tonight VS Clay Buchholz in what could be a high scoring game. Buchholz is 0-3 with a 6.51 ERA. But Rodon has been nothing special of late with a 1-3 record and 4.33 ERA now on the season. Worse yet, Rodon is 0-2 with a 7.07 ERA over his last 3 starts.

Still happy the Sox took him in front of Schwarber.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying Rodon sucks or should be dropped from the rotation or anything remotely close to that. Just saying he has struggled of late as has Buchholz. So now I will not be shocked if they hook up for an old fashioned pitchers duel.

As much as Quintana and Sale have stepped up and dominated these top-to-bottom stud lineup the Sox have been facing, Rodon and Latos have started to struggle. The back half of the rotation needs some easy games against weak opponents. Twins will be a welcome reprieve, but too bad they travel to goddamn Texas next week.

The pitchers may regress more to their career numbers and that should be expected. The bigger problem is the hitting. The Sox only have 3 hits in this ballgame. Luckily for them, one of them was an Abreau 2 run homer. Rodon was not great, but giving up 3 runs in 6 innings isn't bad. Sometimes you need to score some runs for your pitcher.

Boston was one of the worst teams in baseball last season and have basically the same lineup this season. Sox good pitching should easily overmatch them. Boston just isn't that good anymore.

The whole al east is weak, Baltimore was pick to win that division and they are OK..nothing special. ..that's why its kinda absurd when America shits on the NL..this ain't the year to tout the AL.

Why wasn't Cubbie nation polluting Sox gamethreads after their team split the series with Atlanta?

Rodon is looking more like a young Danks (or worse) than the next Sale.

No way..I didn't see the game but this guy has great stuff, better than ranks in his prime..just has control issues...he's a future star barring a serious injury.

No, not really. Plus he already has miles on that arm. His arm is 23 going on 33.
