I hope that he sticks with income inequality. It's a legit issue and he needs to keep pushing it. If he is serious, then he needs to add the racial component to his theme. Poverty doesn't affect African Americans in the same way that it affects whites. His constituency is most young and white, but if he is truly sincere about it, then he needs to breakdown income inequality and unemployment along racial lines too. The numbers are different for blacks and whites and this discrepancy has to be emphasized along with the broader message.

What is "his brand of socialism"? He is essentially a New Deal Democrat.

No offense to you but I'm tired of arguing about if a guy who calls himself a Socialist is a Socialist or not.

Didn't you start the discussion with me?

So because I start a general discussion on Sanders, I have to answer for things I didnt say?

Do you consider Social Security socialism? Or is this still a red scare thing on your part?

I think the next few years are going to show who is right regarding his principles or political expediency. If he becomes an outspoken critic of what some here refer to as center-right Democratic stances and holds Hillary's feet to the fire if she becomes President, then it's clear that his supporters like leash were correct. If he goes quietly into that good night, it's pretty clear Nas is correct. I'm not sure there's a middle ground here.

I don't know if we have to wait - the majority of Sanders' positions are virtually unchanged from what he's believed prior to the presidential run, aside from inconsequential things like registering as an independent vs registering as a democrat. Also, and this isn't necessarily directed at you, the absence of policy and/or structural change isn't evidence that Sanders has failed to fight for the things he says are vitally important.

What positions? If he truly believed these things why wasn't he fighting for them? Where we're these legislative proposals? Actions > Words

If you are talking about Sanders, and you choose to engage someone who is making a point about Sanders, then you have to answer for things that Sanders said.

But, as I said earlier, it doesn't really matter. You wanted Sanders to lose. I wanted Sanders to lose. We both got our wish!

Not really. It's a forced retirement account that I'll probably never see a dime of though.

No, I dont. That's absurd. I can talk about one singular part of a candidacy (your attempt at a GOTCHA about him not criticizing the current POTUS from his own party) without being the spokesman for everything the candidate has ever said ever.

I never said that. That's the second time you've misquoted me on it.

I dont really support any candidate so to say I want one to lose is not accurate. In fact, I want most candidates to stay in the race as long as possible. Since there will not be a President I support, Id like us to take steps away from the two party system.

Did you want Sanders to win?

I assume if you aren't a supporter of someone you want them to lose. I know that sounds crazy but it is what it seems to me.

Fine.

The candidate I didn't want to win didn't, and the candidate you didn't care about didn't win. So, things are good for both of us!

He can't complain about closed primaries and yet not complain about caucuses.

Well he can if he's cool being hypocritical.

He's all over the place. The past month he's created ads for republicans and it sounds like he doesn't plan on convincing his supporters to support Hillary. At this point he's just trying to hurt Hillary in November.

Hilary hurts herself by being chummy with Donald Trump.

You can't convince us to vote for anybody, it don't work like that and he knows it..she's republican lite, she's everything I hate about politics n class in this country personified.. She will probably squeak out a win against Trump and be one n done but don't hold your breath waiting for us to support her..I'm abstaining from voting this cycle.

He's even happier that he gets to face Hillary.

I know what the polls say but there has never been a negative ad ran against Bernie. They didn't want Hillary.

You don't have to run negative adds when the media is lapdogs and won't cover the race fair and unbalanced..the Clinton News Network was a 24-7 negative add against Bernie.

An interesting article for sure.

http://www.slate.com/articles/news_and_politics/politics/2016/04/polls_say_bernie_is_more_electable_than_hillary_don_t_believe_them.html

Basically, Bernie hasn't really ever been attacked. It explains why he is considered such a cult hero.

Of course. I said the same thing. Republicans would love to run against him. That's why they've tried to destroy Hillary.

I just didn't like some of the policies of Bernie but you do really have to question him as a person given some of those red flags from earlier in his life.

I'm sure he mellowed in his old age some but he seemed to have some pretty hardcore ideas.

Slate has been anti-Bernie since the beginning of the year. Same shit from them every week.
