Heyward no?

NO. But in all fairness, I was reading today that Heyward is traditionally a slow starter, with a career .225 average in April. I stand by my comments that he is not a good enough hitter to justify his contract, but he will hit better as the season goes on.

Nicasio has already thrown 50 pitches in just 2 innings. Like Cole in game 1 of the series, he may not go deep into this game.

LOL

The ball getting stuck in the pitcher's glove and throwing the whole thing over to first always makes me laugh.

He walks enough to have a good OBP. Plus he does look at a lot of pitches and works the count. I'll give him that.

Rodriguez had a ridiculous lead. if Lester had even an average move to first, he picks him off. Thank goodness Ross is one of the better throwing catchers.

Zobrist continues to heat up! That's taking advantage of a Bucco miscue!

Does Hurdle chew more or less gum in situations like this?

Maybe they should have had McCutchen's mom in to sing the anthem

Sometimes giving credit to the team doing well makes sense. The Cubs have done a great job of working their pitchers. with Nicosio at 71 pitches now through just 3 innings. They did the same VS Cole and Jake was just being Jake last night. The Cubs have a lot to do with the Pirates looking bad so far.

Joke league. This garbage team with a """superstar""" player who cant catch the fucking ball is supposed to be a contender? Seriously, I'll take the Twins over the Pirates in a 7 game series, and the Pirates are supposed to be one of the "haves" of the NL.

You must have not seen Abreu the other day.

Seriously though. The Pirates are good. They are melting down so maybe they lack mental toughness but they ARE good.

The Brewers are 6-3 against the AL, 5-12 against the NL.

No, they suck.

The Pirates may not be trying to lose to like the Brewers or Reds, but that doesn't make them good. Even in the shitty NL teams cannot just decide "Oh OK we want to be good now", I mean maybe to their NL peers they can appear better... but good? Nah. NL wins are largely meaningless, the equivalent of participation trophies, so dont feed me the Pirates W-L record. NL is such a clownshow, all the Cubs have to do is catch the fucking ball and not walk in runs and its free cracks at the win pinata*.

*unless they are playing the Braves... then they split the series.

Ok, I thought we could have a semi normal exchange. My bad.

You are way exaggerating the AL dominance. Did you miss it when it actually happened from 2000-2009?

The AL is still better, but its not nearly what you make it out to be. It definitely used to be though.

Do you have the excuse post ready in case the NL wins interleague this year?
