Why? They aren't anything special. Rather see them beat really good teams like the Cardinals, Pirates and Nationals. The Sox are going to be just another team this season. Good starting pitching 1-4, but not a special team.

This is contradictory statement imo

A good 1-4 is pretty special

This Baez kid just might end up being what we all hoped Alcantara would be.

This Cubs team is the best I have ever seen, certainly the best since 1984. Cubs might just win 110 this year and win the division by 10 games.

Good, not great. Not special beyond Sale. Quintana is off to a real good start, but he has never put together a special season. Rodon has some real good stuff, but has had starts where he got knocked around like a red headed step chld. Latos is off to a good start, but has shown signs lately that he will be coming back to his normal numbers....which while respectable, again...nothing special.

You mean Latos has been "showing signs" of regressing from a 4-0 record with a sub 1 ERA? I don't believe that!

Nice to see Cubs fans talking about the Sox in their own gamethreads.

It feels like every Lester start he's getting whacked around. But once he's done with his day his line ends up something like 7IP 2ER 8Ks.

I get that same feeling. I think it has to do with he is so slow to home plate and takes his time to disrupt the runners timing.

MLB asked that Lester find a way to lengthen games so fans get their moneys worth since he follows Arrieta on the schedule.

I would say that giving up 4 runs in 5 innings in his last start is fairly substantial regression towards his career numbers. He was a nice upgrade over what they had last season in that slot, but he's nothing special.

The home broadcasters just said that the Pirates proved they could handle the good Cub pitching already before the series ... they just haven't done it during the series.

So ... yeah.

I get what he's saying and still it's nonsensical at the very least.

Six extra base hits in this series, as well as a HBP and some number of walks. And reaching on the Cutch error.

Poor Rizzo.

I think we can officially declare Rizzo better than Frank Thomas.

Regarding the lack of Pirates runs this series .... "give some credit to the Cubs' pitching ..."
