One of my favorite "Holidays" of all time.

First, it is not Mexcian independence day....not even close.

It is the date that the war between France and Mexico ended. Mexico didnt pay its debt to many European nations (Sounds awfully modern), so Napo was going to invade Mexico and take it. The Mexican army put up a fight and per the Mexican history side of things, they stood strong and fought them off.

The French version is that after going into Mexico and seeing what was there, they didnt want it if anyone was going to contest them and they just pulled out of the fight....they left and the Mexican Amry declared VICTORY (Sounds like a Hollywood comedy). Considering France was the most well equipped army in 1862, makes tons of sense.

Go up to your Mexican neighbor today and was wish them a 'Happy Cinco de Mayo" and if they are really from Mexico, I feel pretty good they are going to laugh at you....

Have fun at Chili's...guessing they will have "Cindo de Mayo Special"

I don't need a made up holiday to get drunk and eat tacos.

Actually Cinco de Mayo celebrates the Battle of Veracruz, a brief Mexican victory. It just made the French angry so they sent a bigger force and took over Mexico for awhile. Louis Napoleon liked to start wars abroad to distract from problems at home.

In 1865 the Civil War ended, and the United States probably had the best and most battle tested army in the world in that moment. The US Army was about to march on the French puppet state, and the French cut and ran. The Prussian general staff took note, and a few years later (and a few months before Chicago burned) the German Reich was declared from the Hall of Mirrors at Versailles of a defeated France.

Sad thing for North is that he didnt even invent Steak and BJ day, as he tried to take credit for.

His claim to fame remains....THE BOOKIE PRIEST

As in they won a battle. The French re-invaded. And took control for several years until the U.S. told them to leave. The French wanted Mexico. They would take anything as a colony in the days when the sun never set on the British Empire.

Bros, we have designated our boy T-Y as the ultimate Taco Brodaddy. He ate 16 doritos los tacos, i think it was the cool ranch kind or some shit. and then followed it up with 4 fiery ones. i do not wanna know what his shithouse was like the morning after but it was fuckin hilar brah. and the chick that was workin' the bell drive thru that night looked like Stacy Shaffer, but like every Hillside slut looks like her i think. i think they all come from the same fuckin' family.

Thing i hate about doritos los is that they fuckin' break all the time. it's like i got doritos all over my fuckin balmains brah. other than that i'll usually hit up the bell at like 2am and do like 4 or 5 of those, and a few cheesy gordita crunches. for the classic stylie. totes brah.

Anybody doin' poker this weekend?
