The ejection seemed a bit premature. I thought a fine for the bat and helmet flip might be in order, but in a big game to toss Fowler has a bit of a surprise. Both pitches he was called out on were strikes as far as I am concerned. great pitches on the black.

Bad luck the ball got stuck in the vines.

Tommy Lastella is the spark for this team. We will go as far as he can take us.

Murphy might lead the league in hitting, but he's still a butcher at 2B.

Every time LaStella gets a hit, David Eckstein gets his wings.

And that's a lot of wings.

Hendricks really is a decent #5. Nothing fancy just a grinder. Nice outing for him tonight no matter the end result.

He is. I don't want to have to rely on him in the playoffs, but he's a good 5. You at least know he'll go out and give you a chance to win most nights.

Heyward picks up right where he left off

How the hell is he taking with 2 strikes? If he strikes out swinging....bad enough. But taking with 2 strikes, even if it's on the black is not acceptable.

Jane might at least swing the bat with 2 strikes on her in protect mode. Taking with 2 strikes....a fastball??

I'm sorry, but Jason Hammel looks like John Krasinski.

Just wait till he gets hot and it will happen. He will carry them soon. I believe in the young man. Too talented not to produce real soon.

Maybe the key for Hendrix is to skip a start every now and then?

I think he'll get better, but carry them? He's never put up offensive numbers worthy of "carrying" a team in his career.

Heyward is going to be fine. He's too black and cool not to be. Can you guys stop talking about irrelevant shit?

He only had 60 RBI last year.

This guy Ross really pounds the inside corner on lefties. Gotta say, he is impressive. That slider with 2 strikes has some good bite to it too.

His career high is 82. He's just not a great hitter. They definitely overpaid for him; but if they think he was the final piece and that outfield defense was what was lacking, it doesn't matter to me what they paid.
