That's what I was thinking. I think there were actually 6 murder scenes.

1. The Giant playing handball with that dude's head.
2. The Mountain crushing penis guy's head.
3. Roose
4. A fat woman and her baby getting eaten by dogs
5. King Greyjoy plunging to his death

I guess just 5.

Not including the baby? some type of hidden political agenda?

Yes, all of that.

Or you're just not following all of the hints the show has dropped for five years, and the books have dropped for two decades.

I read all the books between the end of last season and the beginning of this season. Maybe I shouldn't have..

You knew it was coming, but I still was pumped up when he opened his eyes again.

I wonder if he's going to be different. I think that while he was dead, he somehow realized what his true birth might be and will be motivated to seek out the truth.

Things happen but only because there are 100 characters to follow. Did you care about anyone that was killed this season? It's been a good start but they have a lot of ground to cover here.

Greyjoy and the Dornish king were pretty significant I think

Ha, I actually thought about that. A head cutting off type of death.

Read he makes 300K an episode, expensive dude to keep around.

I wonder if he's relieved of his post at the Night's Watch since he technically died?

I heard that theory elsewhere and I like it.

This is exactly how the books feel by book 4. They still have a MAJOR plot twist to reveal this year and its just going to add to the confusion.

Significant characters in stature I suppose but I didn't get to know or care about either. I think the Bolton death was big and didn't see that coming at all until the baby was announced.

Haven't they pretty much left the books behind at this point? What twist do you think they'll keep?

Yeah my buddy mentioned that to me when I was complaining about his storyline being a waste of time. That makes sense to me as a reason it was necessary.

Heard an interesting theory that when Theon says he's going home and they cut to the Iron Isles, what Theon actually means is that he's going back to Winterfell - possibly to get some justice for the Starks and himself.

Don't want to ruin it, but it was a pretty major part of the 4th and 5th book, the other "family member" that Tyrion is boating back.

There's a banquet scene I'd like to see and I think we're going to - under some different circumstances.

I figured they abandoned that plot thread when they gave Jorah Mormont the stoneman skin condition.

i am starting to agree with this, although we're early in the season. the writing is not very sharp; and i am so beyond tired of the "cockney drunk" cliche. throughout the series, the show has stooped to cliche levels at times, but this season there are a lot of them; and there are very predictable moments that i don't think GRRM would have in his overall arc. the books were always full of surprises and twists you didn't see coming. this has been very patterned and formulaic.

there wasn't one scene in this episode that stirred anything. and that's probably the first time for me in this series. even the first episode had some intrigue. this episode just felt hollow.

This is why no series should go more than 5 seasons

This a tough show to predict if you never read any of the books..that's my feeling though on Snows next couple moves, 3-4 guys from the Watch n the wildlings and the onion lord follow Snow... I've been waiting for Blackfish to get revenge on Walter Fray for two years though..I'm likely wrong.

i liked this better than the first two episodes. had a lot more intrigue. i don't have much use for the "bran stark, this is your father's life" angle but it's not as bad as the useless tyrion dragon scene.

in fact, i think what i like least about this season is how they've practically emasculated tyrion. he's basically a non factor right now. i hope that changes.

Great episode. Ending scene was badass.

In almost any other episode, "I can see how that can be confusing with your family" would be the line of the night. But "My watch has ended." can't be topped. Can't wait til next week.
