Stupid league officials.

Obviously they're behind this.

And the umps. They're in on it too.

And Obama.

Damn Obama.

Don't forget that Robin probably had some weird stuff going on in the clubhouse. That loses games too.

Those stupid league officials made the Sox give up 7 runs to one of their pet franchises and all you worry about is weird Robin's clubhouse chemistry?

Sounds like you could use a mariachi band to cheer you up.
Maybe a penguin.

I can't see why anyone would actually be fond of Steve. He's admittedly a proud racist asshole.

I'm a big fan of Darkside as a person and a poster. I just assume it's the gin talking whenever he goes into this section.

Fair question. I am much more focused on the Cubs and what they are doing, thus do not post here when both are playing. But when the Cubs are not playing and the Sox are, I watch their games pretty often. Then again, I watch games on MLB network where neither are playing. I love the game. I actually think the Sox are a pretty good team. They made some nice moves this winter. But I do not believe they are a great team. I do not believe they will win their division, nor capture a wild card. But I think they will contend for a wild card. Yes, I enjoy the back and forth between factions here, like a poker player with a royal flush enjoys playing out the hand. I know how it's going to end.

Fucking league officials wouldn't let abroo get a home run in the 9th against one of their pet franchises.

Damn officials. Cheating bastards.

Incredibly unlucky to squirt out only 3 runs when you accrue 9 walks and 8 hits.

Or....

It's a conspiracy involving league officials.

That make much more sense.

Think about it.

I would call that poor situational hitting, not bad luck. But they get the Twinkies in their next series with Latos (will his decline continue?) and Sale going, so if they can't get healthy this weekend against that squad, they are really in free fall.

Thanks for your research. Hope this team is not like that 1987 White Sox squad you remember so fondly.

I love everyone here. I am a socially responsible member. I have heard a sufficient amount of complaints that I have suspended my more theatrical activities in the Cubs section. I have not even opened the section in a few days because the temptation would be too great.

However, I am open to the give and take across the rest of the board. I don't dislike trollers. I read their posts expecting they are made with the same smile with which I make mine.

I look at "angry" words the same way the judge in Presumed Innocent viewed Rusty's non admission that "yeah, I did it" to Mr. Delay-guardia

Lol @ good dolphin " suspending his cubs activities"

Kinda hard to criticize the best team in baseball when they are beating the piss out of everyone. Your campaign was DOA like Jeb!

My campaign got as many clicks as any straight posts in that section.

As long as there is a Cubs fan big ten frat boy turning his hat backwards and back away from the game during a pitch, there is something to criticize. Mariachi bands, Channel 7 "News" having a cubs thoughts of the day segment, Theo's free agency work, cub deterioration of the neighborhood, cub fan implied support joe ricketts' politics, etc. are all topical and relevant subjects

They appear to be facing the field to applaud a two run home run by Paul Konerko

I welcome you in to the Sox section to continue our dance

Anyways, go fuck yourself.

Despite the Sox going 3-4 in their last 7 games, they maintain a 4 game lead over the Indians, Tigers and Royals who are all just a game over .500. With the weekend series VS the Twinkies, they have an excellent chance to increase that lead even more. But.....if they should continue their struggles with Latos pitching tonight, who knows....perhaps the free fall is truly started. I said that it was starting VS Baltimore and it did. May 23rd or before remember? The only thing I didn't anticipate was how shitty the rest of the division was going to be. The Sox have 1 great pitcher (Sale) and 1 really good pitcher (Quintana). The idea that they have 4 outstanding pitchers is a fallacy. Latos is decent, but at this point in his career, a #4 starter, who may win a couple more games than he loses. Rodon is a highly talented pitcher, who falls apart when things go wrong and tries to live on the corners, rather than attacking hitters and pounding the strike zone. He gets behind in the count too much, where bad things happen. He may be a very good starter some day, but not yet. He may never be. he could be a Shark type, who never really puts it together, but only has streaks where it looks like it's going to happen, but then falls apart again. Time will tell.

After the start they got off to, and all the chesty proclamations, I am just shocked to hear that fans are happy to go 2-2 in a series. I thought they were setting the bar a bit higher. You have 2 starters that should fairly consistently give the Sox a good chance to win (Sale and Quintana). If they don't win at least 2 games in a 4 game series where they pitch, they are really in trouble. That will only happen if the offense shuts down completely. Going 2-2 in that series was nothing to feel satisfied about. It will be interesting to see how Latos does tonight against the lowly Twinkies. In his initial 18 1/3 innings this season, Latos gave up just 1 earned run. But then in his start VS Texas while he gave up just 1 run in 6 innings, he surrendered 7 hits and 2 walks in those 6 innings. He wasn't quite as fortunate in escaping trouble in his last start against Baltimore, giving up 4 earned runs in just 5 innings, while surrendering a whopping 11 hits and a walk. He if facing a fairly inept Twinkies squad, so one has to believe his chances for a better start are pretty fair. But if he struggles again and the losing streak goes on, faith has to wane....
