Wow.. Minnesota is just a really bad team..... I never realized it till the last few games.....other teams can look at that team and plan for a W whenever they play them....

Why the hell did he launch Ventura?

Nice win, Men. It's always good to beat the Twins.

This is not just trolling when I say I disagree. Latos struggled for the 3rd straight game. He surrendered 7 hits and 2 walks, to give up 4 earned runs in just 5 innings. Against a lousy Twins offense! If you want to feel all warm and fuzzy because your team got a win, I guess that is your choice. But it was not a good win in my eyes, when a starter that you might be hoping to help the team to contend has shown that he is continuing to revert back to mediocrity and will be more likely to struggle than succeed against decent teams. it was just a win against a last place, truly lousy team, where your starter barely was able to stick around long enough to qualify for the win. Did anyone want to see him go back to the mound in the 6th? Didn't think so....

Whenever Robin Ventura gets thrown out of a game I think of him getting beat up by Nolan Ryan.

Is english a 2nd language for you? The first sentence is wrong, but at least one that can be answered......I am invested in BASEBALL. Cubs baseball first and foremost. You don't see me posting in Sox threads during Cubs games, because I am watching and commenting on the Cubs during their games. But I follow the Sox as well as teams around the league. Having an educated opinion allows me to offer an opinion on teams other than the Cubs. having watched Latos pitch for years, I feel like I know what to expect from him. You pretty much saw it last night. He will have some good games again, but he will struggle about as often as not and be pretty bad. He is NOT a top of the rotation pitcher at this point in his career by any stretch.

And nobody said he was. Soze said it was a nice win, which it was.

Do you have multiple conversations taking place in your head at any given moment?

At the end of the season (and it's happening quickly over the past couple starts) you will have seen Latos grow his ERA to over 4. He's just a mediocre pitcher. Good enough to be in the end of a rotation on an average team, but not a guy you want to depend on. There is not 1 pitcher in the Cubs rotation he would be better than. His current numbers might suggest otherwise. But anyone who has watched him over the years and seen his last 3 starts, knows he is not what his current numbers suggest he might be. He sucked again last night, but they got him out of the game just after he finished sucking for 5 innings and he got the undeserved victory. He's not very good. At the end of the season, if not before, you will come to grips with it.

Their defense, with Eaton in RF, Jackson in CF and Frazier at 3B is vastly improved.
