When the game is 3-2 going into the 7th why did Robin use Putnam and Duke?

I've had that complaint multiple times this year. I'm not sure Robin is awake for these games unless someone wakes him to tell him he needs to go yell at the ump or get Petricka out of the game because he's walking every other batter again. Its even more puzzling beceause Eaton is a such a firestarter that if they just get him on base Rollins is usually a professional enough hitter to move him over for Abreu/Frazier. The Sox can score 1 run when they really need to, its only when they are down by 3 do you see everyone try and clobber a bases empty 3 run moonshot.

Yesterday would have seemed to be the perfect time for Robin to go on a tirade and get tossed, even for appearances sake. It was a questionable call that took the umpires an eon to determine. However, even further, he let Lawrie be the guy who mfed them, rather than putting the burden on himself. Back up your guy and save him from umpire retribution.

Doesn't matter if its Robin or Ricky. This is a very underwhelming roster. They played with a rabbit's foot up their ass for April....back to reality. They have major starting pitching issues 3-5. A bullpen that's already fried and a pedestrian lineup.
83 wins tops.

Less than three weeks ago, this team had a 6 game lead in the central. They are now 1 game back of the leading Royals. There is plenty of blame to go around, but the constant bunting and the bullpen mishandling have to factor in to this, no? Those are things Robin controls directly.

Melky Cabrera is one of the three players on the team that doesn't make an out at least 34% of the time. Robin had him bunt runners to 2nd and 3rd with nobody out. This saw the Sox' run expectancy drop from 1.44 to 1.28.

After being no-hit in to the 5th, and with only 1 hit in the 7th, Ventura unquestionably hurt his team's chances of scoring a run.

I hope they don't win another game until they fire this idiot.

He had Eaton trying to lay down a bunt yesterday in the 7th, with men on 1st and 2nd with one out. After Eaton fouled off the first one, Ventura thankfully took the bunt sign off, but Jeebus man, stop trying to give away outs bunting and stealing.

Over the course of 2015, sacrifice bunt attempts (accounting for errors and judgement calls made by scorers) made by the Sox cost them almost 8 expected runs, or almost an entire win.

So far in 2016, Robin's bunting attempts have cost the team almost 3.5 expected runs.

Awful team. Awful fans.
