Saw this week's episode last night. Was Maher unfamiliar with Jeremy Scahill and/or The Intercept before having him on the show? Scahill absolutely torched Bill on our foreign policy and use of drones. That's not really the type of guy you invite on to a show where you plan on defending Obama and Hillary at all costs.

He will either not have him back on the show ever or he will invite him back on with the intention of doing a Jon Stewart on him.

It was really pathetic when Maher interjected and pleaded with Scahill to pimp his book instead of justifiably ripping Hillary and Obama.

IIRC, he's had Scahill on a number of times over the years. I really think he brings him on every so often to appease true progressives. Scahill is funny in that he always seems genuinely pissed from the start & Maher kind of never knows what to do with him. I guess it was like when he would regularly bring on former Congressman Jack Kingston(R-GA) who was seemingly relatively honest/earnest. He'd let him run, but not nearly as much, he wasn't as intimidating(?) as Scahill. (Funny how he lost his bid for the R Senate nomination in Georgia to an alleged outsider though)

Maher, always with a bit of lip service/effort to giving semi-equal time to all sides. I guess it makes him feel occasionally balanced.

True. He's pretty damn intense. He comes off much more balanced in his writing IMO.

No! That's the craziest part! Scahill is on the show at least once a season. That poll that had Trump even with Hillary just fucked Bill right up this week.
