Sure when a UFC guy does it he is kicking his ass. But let's not pretend here that is what Robin was doing. He was grabbing on to him in desperation as a bunch of other guys get involved and end up in a big pile. That is hardly like Robin administered a rear choke hold and made Ryan tap out.

That's shading toward a pedantic interpretation of Bernstein's schtick vis a vis the "fun police". Last week he said "all of this stuff [being mad at 'baseball fun'] comes from White America". When challenged on it by a caller, he doubled down while shifting the goalposts to "look where a majority of this stuff comes from...[white people]". His self-loathing whiteness is on full display on this topic, and he only tries to tip-toe with things like "almost" when he notices people are paying too much attention to his verbiage.

He even defiantly asked callers to name any non-white pundit or player that has come out against "baseball fun". When a caller brought up a bunch of crotchety minority players that routinely went spikes up and headhunted, the goalposts were shifted again to "well, nobody has said anything about it as of late." I'm sure noting to him that of the 5 major players in this brawl (the three pitchers responsible for HBP's and the fighters), the majority are Latin in descent would result in yet another shifting of the goalposts, or even indignant questions about why their race matters.

He very clearly wants this to be a White problem, for reasons that I don't particularly understand.
