So Northie - you can only go 18 hours? MY GUY JOHNNY B is going 28!

Jonathon Brandmeier could give new meaning to his nickname "The Hyper Rooster" when he broadcasts on WLUP-FM (97.9) for 28 consecutive hours.

Starting at 6 a.m. today, he'll stay on the air until 10 a.m. Friday while hosting the eighth annual Make-A-Wish radiothon for the Emmis Communications classic rock station. Donations to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Greater Illinois will help grant wishes to children with life-threatening medical conditions.

Johnny B. returned to the Loop as morning host last month.

19 hours. North would be having a drink at Gibsons by now telling everyone what an accomplishment he just pulled and he deserves to get drunk.

Johnny B is coming off a 5 month hiatus. So we will have to see what happens next year.

I never listened to Johnny B as I am too young to know about him from his previous Chicago stint. I was curious about the marathon the other day so I flipped on 97.9 and he made an interview with a dad who has a son with cancer one of the most gripping thing I've ever heard on the radio. I normally listen to music or if any talk, sports talk...and I flip around without even thinking about every two minutes, but I completely forgot about changing the station listening to Johnny B, and that's probably the point of any quality show.
