That'd be an interesting ending to a real boxing match. One fighter pounds a guy for the majority of the fight. In the 12th round, the "winning" fighter takes a punch with seconds left in the round and dies. The dead guy is saved by the bell, so the fight goes to the cards. The dead guy wins.

I just don't see the point of falsely aggrandizing a complete asswipe like Nolan Ryan. Look at his fucking tongue hanging out of his mouth in my avatar. There is no pile. It's him and Ventura. The others are desperately trying to stop Ventura from killing that goof.

Robin got handled by an old man who rocked his ass a good 5 times. Ryan getting suffocated was clearly the result of a huge pile of flesh that would have made SomeGuy go wild.

Ryan whooped Ventura's ass.

That's become the narrative over the years, but it's just wrong. There isn't really any argument. Frank posted the video. It doesn't lie. The "huge pile of flesh" wasn't helping Ventura. It was trying to tear him off Ryan as he was choking the living shit out of him.

You're full of shit.

Really, Walt? Maybe you should look at my avatar. I know it's a cute story to say some old hillbilly beat up a 25 year old guy. It's just isn't true. Sorry about that, Walt.

Ventura beat up Ryan, and the Cubs aren't the best team in baseball....there is something seriously wrong with you

The tape clearly shows Ventura getting the best of Ryan. Why you want to ignore that, I'm not sure.

As for the Cubs, I don't believe I've commented on whether or not they are "the best team in baseball". I'll say that they obviously appear to be one of the better teams in the National League. I'm not sure they match up well if they have to face the Mets in a playoff series though.

So choking an old man after your initial attack move ended with that old man punching you in the head is something to be proud of?

Man, this White Sox group sure like to pick fights with the gray hairs.

Probably a good thing that Nancy Faust is gone

At a minimum, Ryan is looking at a suspension. We will be taking a break but first lets have a moment of silence for Robin Ventura.

Who said anything about being proud? Ventura got the best of Ryan. That's a fact. What's the point in trying to deny that? I'm guessing it's to ridicule the White Sox. I'm sure you can find truthful way to ridicule the White Sox.

So essentially the argument is 1v1 Ryan whooped Ventura's ass. But once all the players jumped in Ryan lost because Ventura started choking Ryan and then 5 Sox players sat on him trying to crush him.

No. Just watch the tape. There is no question about the facts. It doesn't help your Cub fandom to promote some phony narrative about how Big Tex whipped a feeble Sox third baseman.

That's called a fight. It's probably equally as manly as putting a guy in a headlock while your steroidal catcher jumps on him from behind.

I'm pretty sure a winning fighter doesn't look like the purple guy in the Rangers uniform with his tongue hanging out as clearly depicted in my avatar.

I havent denied anything. Most people remember it as Ryan winning. I dont really care. I just wouldnt bring any senior citizens I care about around White Sox players or fans.

Not only does he light up a room, he lights up Nolan Ryan.

The dead guy is normally the loser.

Ryan almost lost then.

So the White Sox won the team portion of the fight!

So everyone remembers Nolan Ryan beating up Ventura because of anti-Sox bias in the media?
