For the record... use this inning anytime some putz says baseball is slow and boring. They don't understand the game if they say that. That was really tense and exciting. Even though really nothing happened lol. Still though, weird ass defensive alignments, great pitching... just fun.

That's the great thing about baseball; all it takes is one swing. Sometimes, those swings are three straight popups.

Good stop by Lucroy on the 2-2 pitch, or it's 2nd and 3rd with just 1 out

All I can think of while watching this shit is Maddon saying the hitters will love not having the wind in their faces. In 2 nights, they have scored 3 runs, all in the 9th inning.

And now look at how they scored.

It's a strange, strange game.

9 career HR's and a .180 average is good for a pitcher.

Wood is an awful pitcher. Really needed Fowler to come through.

He really has no real role on this team. Last year when they had the 4th and 5th starter often failing to go even 5 innings, they needed guys like Wood and Richard that could go 2-3 innings....long relief. This year, that has not been needed, as the starters have always gone at least 5 innings and generally 6 or more. He's not a good situational lefty either, so I am not sure he really has a real role.

Did you not hear Len commenting on how Wood was one of the best hitting pitchers when he was a starter? Did you not hear that he had gone 2 for 8 including a grand slam, batting with the bases loaded previously?

I would love to see the Cubs go find themselves a real lefty reliever. Wood and Richard do nothing for me, especially late in games.

That's literally the most amazing thing I've ever heard.

I disagree with removing Ramirez for Richard. Ramirez did bounce a few in, but his pitches had great movement and I would have left him in to finish it. Sometimes this lefty/ righty thing is overdone.
