Maybe, but what it really comes down to is the Brewers' inability to throw a strike to Travis Wood. Counsel lost the game as much as Maddon won it.

I've never seen an offense refuse to swing at hanging breaking balls down the middle of the plate like this team today. There's no reason to ever throw these guys a fastball.

They're throwing some games early in the year when nobody's looking to make a few extra bucks to offset postseason travel costs.
