He is getting worried, real worried.

18 games over 500 and 7.5 games up in the division before memorial day, that works for me.

Cubs fan, not interested in the Sox

Yeah. This is either gonna be a 1-0 Sox win, or a 2-1 Astros win.

Sale basically has to go CG again to win. Plus get through at least Altuve-Springer once more even if he's perfect without giving up shit. He's got 8 outs left to get and about 30 pitches to get them.

If he falters even a little then the Sox either trail (and lose) or the bullpen comes to blow the game (and lose).

Any other pitcher going and we lose this game after that pile of shit last inning, but we got this. Sale's awesome.

McHugh pitching a hell of a game with no run support.

84 pitches, 6 outs to go. The 8th doesn't scare me (though Gattis has given them problems), but the Sox better have 1 down and Sale on the mound for Altuve-Springer with Correa waiting behind.

Zero faith in Robertson or Jones to get those outs. Has to be Sale. He's gotta be perfect.

Yep. He did. Tough pitch to hit out.

You have your bait, you know exactly how to use it, but these waters 'aint what they used to be. That doesn't stop you, though. Every few nights, when the winds are blowing just right and the seas are calm you sail us by.

The lone, old fisherman in the night. We know him from the pangs of his bell..."run support"..."the one pitch" He's on his hunt not because he wants to reap the bounty. He has most of his trophies, the true struggles where he honed his technique into what it is now. He's spent so many hours sharpening that spear, tightening that line... he knows his craft perfectly. And that's from where he derives his true joy, plying his craft flawlessly. But he needs a fish on the line and tonight, like so many others, we all hear the lonely bell come ringing.

Maybe he'll go to Facebook, sure to find a tussle there. But child's play that is, and really only a way to relieve the compulsion one feels once they've built something truly beautiful. The fury of a thousand unanswered calls for debate released ferociously on an unsuspecting teenager who maybe let the Fangraphs get too his head a little too much. He's a fisherman waiting for his fish, his catch of a lifetime. Maybe Dave Cameron, or Dan Bernstein or any other Great White will cross his path one of these lonely nights. Maybe he'll get his showcase one day.

But tonight, like so many other nights, we only glance as he drifts by.

Alright Sale, this is where you win the Sox a game that the Sox absolutely need to win.
