I'd be surprised if Peavy isn't DFA'ed after this game. He had a nice run a decade ago but its over.

Bite your tongue. They need to keep him around all summer.

I was going to name my son Latidimuss Dorsi then I realized that's a stupid name.

Peavy had some good games sprinkled in there here and there last year, no? He's at John Danks level of bad now.

All jokes aside, if Peavey were cut tomorrow he'd be scooped up by the White Sox wouldn't he?

And before anyone gets riled up, that's not a shot at the Sox.

No. No way. He'd get fucking killed up here.

A Cy Young and 2 World Series rings....I'd say he did pretty well. But yes, it is over. But glad the Cubs could take advantage of his current ineptitude tonight.

It was a great catch by Heyward. I am anxious to see what the medical report is going to be. If he is out for an extended period will they just bring up Sczcur, who had his 2nd game in a rehab assignment tonight, or will it be Almora, who has been performing very well at AAA?

I don't think he would fare well either, but I could see them rolling dice on him. Hell, anybody looking for a 5th starter would wouldn't they?

Not if they watched him much this year. You want a guy who can do it now, not who used to be able to get it done. The tank is pretty empty.

Maybe coop thinks he could fix him. I mean, he already tried and couldn't but maybe he thinks another bite at the apple or something?

He's not the same this year.

I know no one expected him to be but that invincibility vibe is fading with each start. There is absolutely no way a 7 year extension should even be considered by the Cub.

He did a Reed Johnson warning track dive to catch a ball, crashed into wall. My guess is fucked up / tore an oblique .

Almost broke his neck making a terrific catch in right center.

As of now, the word is it's abdominal issue.

He's set such an incredibly high bar and his numbers are still there but yeah , he's hasn't been as sharp for sure . I mean maybe it's splitting hairs but he's not passing the eye test to me . High pitch counts is a good indicator of how off he's been .

I agree. Plus the opposing team's scouting reports are probably catching up with him.

I'm surprised he got up and walked off under his own power. (One of the all time great sport sayings by the way.)
