Best pitch sequence of the night to Panik there . Cub need to add on now. They're going through the motions with the bats now.

With Jake's pitch count up, I'm guessing he may just go one more inning. Giants have done a good job of working the count.

Great chart .... Sittin' on the Dock of the Bay ... apparently the whistling at the end isn't Otis ... he did originally whistle at the end of the recording because he was going to add the words later, but then shortly thereafter he snuffed it, so someone else (I don't know who, probably nobody in particular) used his whistling as a reference and "finished" the song for him.

He's not the same this year.

I know no one expected him to be but that invincibility vibe is fading with each start. There is absolutely no way a 7 year extension should even be considered by the Cub.

He's set such an incredibly high bar and his numbers are still there but yeah , he's hasn't been as sharp for sure . I mean maybe it's splitting hairs but he's not passing the eye test to me . High pitch counts is a good indicator of how off he's been .

It's insane.

Six innings of 1 run ball and yet we'd all probably agree that he struggled tonight.

Well, struggled for Jake.....sign of a great pitcher, is to be able to win when his stuff is not great.

Soler seems better in LF than he did in RF. I hope the improvement is not just a temporary thing.

With Soler almost certain to be getting regular playing time now, it's great to see him having a really good game with the bat and in the field. Opportunity is knocking for Jorge....

Solid victory tonight boys & girls.

Let's hope Lester controls his sweating tomorrow and we pick up another W.

Have to like the Lester VS Cain matchup. Then again, some of the matchups in Milwaukee looked very favorable and ......

Good start to the series. Anxious to see how long Heyward is going to be out and how they approach it.

That was a pleasant score to wake up to!

Heyward got hurt? Good for Soler.

Heyward's catch is top 5 of all time I've ever seen. Even with the perfect read he got, he had no business catching that. He's lucky he didn't break his neck.

Great catch! Virtually any other ballpark that's gone and it's not looking so good for the Cubs.

Another start where Arrietta drives in as many runs as he gives up.

Rough day at the ballpark so far today. I guess we were due for a clunker.
