The Sports Authority bankruptcy is just another example (many more to come) of businesses borrowing too much cheap money and then realizing they can't pay it back.

I'd say it's more the result of death by Internet...many more to come. What does SA sell that can't be bought for less $ on-line. A quick search brings up multiple products choices, end user reviews, easy to compare pricing and (frequently) free shipping. How does a big box store - with overhead, staffing, etc. - compete with that?

They can't.

They will start holding fire sales next week.

Morrie staked his kid Jeff (who's probably now in his late 60s if he's still alive) to the original Irving's for Red Hot Lovers across from Edens Plaza in Wilmette. Not the brightest bulb on the electric menorah, and in retrospect probably high as a kite half of the time, being a 20-something in the 70s.

Correct. Amazon and Walmart will pretty much put everyone else out of business and rule the world.

I had gift card. When talk of liquidation started a few weeks ago I literally ran to the one at randhurst and redeemed it. Wanted to do it before there was nothing left and/or I was stuck with a worthless card.

Does this mean it's just going to be called Mile High Stadium like the old one?

We're coming to you live from Chapter 11 Stadium...no one can hear us because we didn't pay the electricity bill, but the Broncos are playing the Raiders today anyway...at least until the sun goes down.

Any time you are in Dinver, and the stadium does not have a name, that is going to cause sponsors and companies to want to come down and buy some of the rights. If they do that, they have advertising, and their name is out there, and we see billboards with their ads. So that is what happens when a company buys a stadium, or at least the name to that stadium, like the one here in Dinver.

I'm not sure how Sears has made it this long.
