Lots of talk that Gavin Lux will be the pick at 26. I still hold out hope that 1) Ray will be there at 10 and 2) the Sox will draft him.

Gav's the real deal. They hope he'll be there at 26.

Then Theo identified some good suspects...and Keyser seems to care more about the draft than the MLB roster....so, there goes that theory....

I was driving around on Saturday. Rosenthal came on and he calls his show the show that sucks. They constantly refer to the show sucking. I couldn't take it so I PTFB to 1000 and lo and behold Murph and Fred were on. Murph has a huge man crush on Jim Hendry still. He went on and on that it was a couple of Hendry's scouts that were left over that talked Theo into taking Schwarber.

At least DiCaro wasn't on.

Looks like the Sox went underslot on Hansen and saved enough money to sign Curbelo. I dont like the Burdi pick, but the rest of it I cant really fault. Jameson Fisher is one I'm really interested in.

I know its early, but this draft sure looks solid so far.

Early returns on Call and Hansen in particular are absolutely outstanding. Both have been brilliant so far. Collins is harder to get a read on because the concussion. Burdi started out shaky but he's become dominant now. Fisher and Curbelo have turned in solid performances as well. Not out of the woods yet by any means, but a promising start.

Hansen went 6 IP, 1 H, 1 BB and 11 (!) K. Time for him to go to Kannapolis probably.

They should be developing Burdi as a starter. They have nothing to lose and he could develop into a top of the rotation guy. Fulmer looks destined for the pen and that would make two first round relievers. That's not getting value out of your top draft picks.
