That is but one other thing that Sanders and his supporters have been wrong about this season.

You seem to be obsessed with parties and maintaining the status quo. You're like a black Brick without the love of black people.

Why should there be primaries at all? Why not have the political party run whoever they feel like should run?

Primaries are fine. There are far too many people proclaiming a faux independence these days. Just another way to avoid accountability. Why should independent voters be allowed to influence primaries? General is cool. Not the primaries though.

So you believe that, to be taken seriously, one must declare a party affiliation, correct?

Im actually for shaking things up. That's why I see through the phoniness of guys like Obama and Sanders. At least Hillary has never pretended to be nothing more than what she is, which is a politician.

Apparently, that's the case. And it's also the primary reason this country is in the sorry shape it is.

In order to influence a primary as a voter, you should declare your affiliation. If you are going to allow independents then you must also allow voters from opposing parties too.

I guess I don't follow you here. If just Democrats vote in a primary and it goes 60%/40% between two contestants, why does it bother you that independents would sway the vote to 55%/45%? They'll just declare Democrat ahead of time if they are really interested in derailing your party's primary, and you can't prove they aren't a Democrat. The Supreme Court has held that the freedom of association is on the same level as freedom of speech.

It would be another sign of Bernie sticking it to Hillary to help Trump.

Trump will be nice to Bernie in this debate. His focus will be to slam Hillary in hopes of wooing Bernie supporters to vote for him once Bernie is out of the race.

Bernie Sanders has to be careful. He is playing with what little he has left of his political career. He is appearing to be nothing more than a sore loser the further he goes in the process. Pretty soon the "establishment" is going to really start going after him. Once that happens he is done as a political figure.

With his age, what more is there for him to do? Might as well go out with a bang

Hillary did the same thing. Granted she was closer but this should be over in about 12 days.

Hillary never threatened to take the fight up through the convention. She also never attempted to sway superdelegates. She also didn't incessantly whine about the process. She accepted the eventual outcome. I don't think Sanders is going to do that

She did all of those things and even mentioned the death of Bobby Kennedy.

Trump has nothing to gain by attacking Bernie and everything to gain by being nice to him. Trump knows this and will use this to his advantage.

Hilary was far worse in 2008. The Kennedy thing was sick. And she was trying to use race against Obama as well. People have short memories.

 What? She did every one of those things, and she might be the most entitled politician I've ever seen. Her behavior this election is essentially "how dare someone challenge my throne". Your bias is blatant and obvious.

OK.... Very simplistic view,

50% of voters are Independent

Many states make it damn near impossible to vote on voting day if you aren't registered Dem or Rep MONTHS in advance...its voter suppression... If people voted from their phones .Hillary would be buried months ago.
It's a nomination for party. Voter suppression of members who aren't in the party is impossible.

It would be like saying that me not having a vote in the local teachers union is voter suppression.

The Democratic party is looking for a candidate that represents the Democratic Party, not independents and Republicans.

It's a two party system that suppresses outsiders. If you want to have a say in who is running in November then you have to vote in the primaries, so that's a flawed analogy.

Then voting for the nominee of that party doesn't make sense.
