That was very representative of his usual effort. I'm just glad they are using it, rather than the "guest conductor" when they do use the video. The Ernie Banks one is pretty good too.

That sounds like late 80's and 14 Budweiser in HC..I'd walk home from school n toss on wgn hoping the fame was in...still better than any guest conductor but he's gotta be better in year one or two when he was younger n didn't slur...or no?

The story behind him singing it anyway was Bill Veeck said anyone could do it better than Harry did in the old WSNS Sox days. That is why he started singing it in the first place. Off key was the key thing hillbilly city slicker. Learn a little history or at least research the past that you know nothing about.

This is going to be a high scoring game. That was a routine flyball that Fowler hit.

Good move by Hendricks. Can't let the ace of the staff get injured on a slide.

I thought he could have scored, had he run hard out of the gate, but he's throwing a good game so far.

Glad to see Heyward looking better at the plate and I do not just mean his 2 hits, but that he is working the count again and taking pitches off the plate that he was swinging at a week ago. He seems to be seeing the ball better and the results are nice to see.

Arrieta is worn down and disintegrating with each start. He hasn't had "A" stuff since last September.

Hendricks is the future.

Obviously Arrieta is done. Anyone can see that. I'm still not sold on Hendricks though but I've been impressed. Two more good starts and I'll declare him the ace.

It is a long song with many confusing twists and turns of phrase.

As much as Hendricks had a hit earlier in the game, if he is not going to pitch in the 8th it seems odd to let him bat there in the 7th.

Why wouldn't he pitch the 8th? He could pitch the 9th too.

Wow......Hendricks seems to have gained a couple links on the chain. Uncle Joe usually has him on a short leash and rarely lets him go longer than 6.

And why did you think he wasn't pitching the 8th?
Kinda was a sign that he was going back in?

Just because Joe yanked him early so often last season, many times when Hendricks seemed to be going well. He seemed not to have much trust in him. That he let him go 7 was a bit of a surprise. I'm glad to see Madden letting him go deeper in this game and I agree, let him start the 9th and only bring Rondon in if he allows more than one runner.

That's a cheap as fuck move by the Phillies. I'd fucking launch one at Rupp's head.

Down by 4, I think that is a dumb move by Galvis to try to score. Yes, he made it, but if he was out the game is over and if he makes it, they are still down by 3.

All's well that ends well. Too bad Hendricks missed out on the shutout, but great game by Hendricks.

Not going to be easy to complete a sweep. Vince Velasquez at 5-1 with a 2.75 (I believe that's correct) ERA has been the Phillies best pitcher. John Lackey will duel Velasquez. Should be a good, tight game. Of course, if the wind is blowing out at 18 mph again tomorrow....who knows. I predict Rizzo breaks out of it tomorrow and has a couple hits, including a HR.
